The Bar SZ Ranch is a genuine working family ranch. Enjoy horseback riding, roping, hayrides, skeet shooting, archery, seasonal creek walking, hiking, outdoor movies, and line dancing. And when the sun goes down, relax as a rancher would with a BBQ, bonfire, s'mores, and epic star gazing.
This house is extremely unique as it is located on a very historical property in the heart of San Benito County. The ranch is known around the world as the Legendary Doc Bar Ranch, which was the home to the world famous cow horse Doc Bar. The house, once the art studio of world famous painter Thomas Kinkade, sits upon a beautiful and quiet hill that overlooks the valleys and mountains of the ranch. Picture windows allow for breathtaking views across the entire house. It is a truly amazing place to get away, relax, and rejuvenate.
The grounds are home to thousands of native birds and animals. We are just 10 minutes from the Pinnacles National Park which offers world-class hikes, rock climbing, and outdoor educational classes. The ranch is located 40 minutes from a town with shopping and restaurants.
*We have multiple houses on the property if you are looking to get a large group together. Please search Bar SZ Ranch or inquire within for more information.

This is a working ranch. We welcome you to enjoy all aspects of ranch life with us (as much as you would like)! There is a managing family who lives on the property should our guests need anything. They are extremely happy to assist with anything from starting camp fires, to barbequing on our large outdoor grill, running to get supplies from town, or helping you experience the working side of the ranch. We want everyone's experience to be unique and suited to their personal desires. Daily chores include caring for all the ranch animals, tending to gardens, planted fields, and moving cattle, just to name a few. Guests can also enjoy guided horse back or trail rides. We really enjoy sharing all that this magnificent ranch has to offer!
This house is located just 10 min. from the Pinnacles National Park (America's newest national park), 30 minutes from San Benito's Wine Trail, 30 minutes from a sky diving/hang gliding park, and 40 minutes from Hollister Hills (off-road vehicle park).
Please remove your shoes before entering our home, and clean all the dishes before leaving.
We do not allow pets inside the house. We can offer kennels for cats and dogs. Dogs are welcome around the ranch on a leash.
This house is non-smoking. Due to the extreme fire hazard smoking will ONLY be allowed in designated areas on the ranch.
