Perfect for seekers, artistic types and intellectuals as we are in the heart of the arty/academic/spiritual community of Cape Town. This airy room with lots of cupboard space is suitable for a singles and couples.

Guests have easy walking access to the vibey village of Observatory, as well as to the train station that services most of Cape Town. The airport is a 10 minute drive away, as is the city centre. The closest beaches are a 15-20 minutes drive away.

I work from home and enjoy meeting interesting people from around the world, so I will interact regularly with guests, and offer them support and advice.

Observatory is one of Cape Town's oldest suburbs and contains a colourful mixture of everything from an Observatory that studies the stars, to one of the world's most famous hospitals (Groote Schuur - first heart transplant), to close proximity to the University of Cape Town, to two rivers that run to the sea (Liesbeck and Black Rivers), to a vibrant high street with unique bars, clubs, pubs and restaurants (no chains!), to a circus tent - to name just a few oddities and characteristics. Artists, hippies, academics, students, travellers and locals all mingle together in a colourful parade that never ceases to delight me.

Yes, our home is situated within a 5 minute walk of the train station, and by car we are close to the freeway and all major arterials. In fact, Observatory is considered the most equidistant suburb of any in the whole of Cape Town, making it easy to get anywhere whether beaches or Kirstenbosch gardens, the northern or southern suburbs, the airport, CT city centre, the mountains or when getting out of town.

Secure, off-street parking for up to 2 cars.
Free WiFi.
Double bed.
We share our house with 2 Siamese cats and a puppy.

I'm an outgoing, caring, creative and warm person who loves connecting light-minded seekers from around the world and bringing them together, whether through facilitating weekly conscious dance classes (BlissDance) across the road from my home, or hosting Loving Touch Workshops aka Cuddle Parties or Dharma Festivals or CosmoForm Meditations at my home, or DJing at venues around the city - I seem to be at the epicentre of Cape Town's vibrant, conscious community. My home buzzes with friends, activities and events, but there's always a quiet corner to work or meditate in too. It's a mindful, conscious space but friendly and open at the same time. I work from home so am flexible when it comes to collecting guests from the airport and continental breakfasts are available on request.

I love all the creative arts - dancing, singing, painting, acting, writing, reading, movies - and many of my friends are artists. I also adore animals and our 2 Siamese cats are very much part of the family.

Our home is beautiful but informal and friends love to hang out here. We aren't big on routine and guests are welcome to cook in the open plan kitchen (if you wash up afterwards) and enjoy the comforts of our home.

I like adventurous travelling to lessor known destinations and am a nature freak. Africa is my passion.

My life's motto: The world is as you are.

Here is what a recent guest had to say about her stay at my home - unfortunately it was too late to go into the published reviews: 'Hi Kali, unfortunately I did not realize there was a time-limit to leaving a review, leaving it to the moment we returned to Cambridge, otherwise I would have written it earlier. Thank you so much for hosting us. I really loved your home. You must have heard this before, but you have great taste, and it was wonderful to stay at such a beautiful place with so much life in it. (I might have borrowed your beaded flowers idea - when I saw them in the garden I loved it so much, that I bought some for my parents, who are avid gardeners). You made us feel very welcome, and I hope to return sometime in the future. I hope Sienna, Isabel and you will have a lovely holiday. Merry Christmas, Sophie'
