A truly historic district of (URL HIDDEN) the north of the Gare de Lyon train station, between Place de la Bastille and Place de la Nation, the area surrounding Ledru-Rollin metro station corresponds to the Quinze-Vingts administrative district. It is centered around one of the oldest roads in the capital, Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine. In the past, the Abbaye Saint-Antoine des Champs stood in the area. An intense craft industry has developed here since the Middle Ages. The Saint-Gobain corporation started out here in 1692. The Faubourg Saint-Antoine area became one of the cradles of the French Revolution in 1789. This popular revolt also sounded the death bell for the neighborhood. In the middle of the industrial revolution, it was invaded by large Haussmann-style avenues, and Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine. The stifled atmosphere of Parisian history In 1791, the Abbaye de Saint-Antoine became a hospital as an acknowledgment of the residents' commitment to overthrowing the monarchy. On Rue de Charenton, you can see the classical facade of another hospital, the Hôpital des Quinze-Vingts, founded by Saint-Louis. Absolutely charming! Although the neighborhood is loud and lively, once you step through the large wooden door into the courtyard, you can't believe you're still in central Paris because it is so quiet. The four flights of stairs are well worth climbing to get to the gorgeous flat. Beautifully decorated and well-provisioned, the 3 separate bedrooms plus the very comfortable living room couch were perfect for our family of five. Ledru Rollins metro stop is across the street, and the Bastille metro stop is a short walk away. Monoprix (grocery store) is conveniently located on the corner. We love this neighborhood of Paris. This is the second time we have stayed near the Bastille. We highly recommend Zella's flat, and would definitely stay there again.

This was my first AirBNB booking and I was traveling alone with my 4 year old son to see Paris and family - a lot about this trip was daunting. Staying here was my relaxation place, every night I looked forward to going through the door from a busy street to our quaint walk through the courtyard and up the stairs. There are a lot but it adds to the feeling of where we were staying. Maryse, Zelia's mother in law, was amazing - one of the nicest people I have ever met. She wanted to help us make sure our trip was wonderful and safe and helped me with everything I needed. Honestly, she went above and beyond and I am in awe of her. Zelia was great with questions that popped up and design questions. The apartment is impeccably designed since she is an interior designer and I wish we had some of the shops here in the US ! All in all, I feel it the apartment was amazing, helped with me having a 4 year old in Paris, easily accessible, and made our trip very authentic! Thank you!!!

We stayed in this apartment along with my husband's sister, while visiting our son, who is studying abroad. It was perfect for the 4 of us as the 3 bedrooms are quiet and private. We were met by Maryese who had many tips for us and advice for visiting Paris. There were prompt replies to any questions we had and there were no problems during our stay. The apartment is located in the busy neighborhood of Bastille. There is a wonderful fresh fruit and vegetable market down the street and many other shops and boulangeries nearby. We came home late on many nights using public transportation (both metro and bus are convenient) and never felt unsafe. The landscaped courtyard, which the apartment overlooks, is beautiful, and the building is set back from the street so it is always quiet. The apartment is very tastefully designed, extremely clean, and the kitchen (and 2 baths) is modern and well supplied. As others have noted, there is no lift and the stairs are not for the faint of heart - as there are many - but we managed. I would recommend this apartment without hesitation for anyone seeking a quiet and comfortable apartment - good for 2 couples or a family of 4 or 5.

We loved this apartment located on lively Bastille, close to the tube station but set back far off the main high street. It is a peaceful and unique oasis in the middle of a buzzing district and a charming location up many flights of stairs! Beautiful linen towels and finishes allow for a very comfortable stay. We would highly recommend this apartment.

Our host was extremely accommodating and offered fabulous suggestions for walks around Paris. The ambiance of the apartment surroundings was delightful....including a purring cat who welcomed us on a few occassions. It was an easy walk to the Bastille metro and the market was a convenient 2 min walk away. The interior was as described. Beds comfortable, an amazing couch, and the kitchen was fully stocked with all the cooking amenities anyone could ask for. We will plan a return trip for certain. Thank you for everything!

Stedet anbefales!
