The Neighbourhood
House With a View is located in Molong, New South Wales, Australia.
Welcome to Molong “Place of many rocks”. A quaint country escape, which is a great base for exploring the Central West.
Molong is set in the hills of the Macquarie Ranges, 32 km north of Orange on the Mitchell Highway. It is a rural town with plenty of old-world charm. The main street is National Trust-classified, and many fine heritage buildings from the 1800s are scattered around this Country NSW town.

Follow the heritage walking tour of Molong to see the many fine 19th-century buildings. Wander through craft shops and visit nearby historic villages such as Yeoval, Cumnock, Manildra and Cudal.

Yarn Market: Take a walk into the small township and the Yarn Market is worth a visit. Stock up on some local delicacies and crafts. Take a guided tour and talk on the History of the Old Coach House and Molong itself.

Yuranigh’s Aboriginal Grave is located just 4km south of Molong and 32km north of Orange, Yuranigh’s grave is a significant historical site which bears witness to important early interaction between Aboriginal and European cultures. Yuranigh was explorer Thomas Mitchell’s guide. Check out the website for more information.

Animals on Bikes is a 120 kilometre paddock art sculpture trail displaying 111 two metre high structures (and some smaller letterboxes) on the back road from Molong to Cumnock to Yeoval to Dubbo Zoo. The sculptures have been created by local farmers, farmers wives, men's sheds, sculptors, preschool kids, and playgroup mums - anyone with an artistic flair! The sculptures can be seen at anytime, the scenic road is open and the free self drive tour can be experienced at your own pace, from the window of your car or campervan. Enjoy! Pick up some wrapping paper and a tourist map at nearby Tourist Information Centres, local newsagent and cafes, to view the colourful paddock art masterpieces.

Borenore Karst: An inland oasis for native wildlife and protected species like the eastern bent-winged bat, Borenore Karst Conservation Reserve nearby is a great place to get in touch with nature. The ancient limestone caves are the feature attraction at Borenore, and there are several that are open to explore. The most popular is Arch Cave, and there is a large grassy area, barbecues and picnic tables, a great place for a family picnic.

Molong is also a great base for Dubbo Zoo (65 minute drive), Wineries (15-20 minutes drive), Mt Conobolas (25 minutes drive) and Parks Telescope (50 minute drive).
