My friend and I originally booked Jim's place for about four months, but had to end our trip early. Jim was receptive to our trip alteration, and was an extremely responsive and helpful host in general! Jim was always quick to communicate and did everything he could to help us and make our stay as enjoyable as possible, from maintaining the place, to lending us tools, to showing us how to pick mangos from the tree in his yard.
The place itself was very clean, extremely well-equipped and furnished, and exceeded our expectations. We had our own parking spot at the back of the house, and enjoyed as much privacy as we wanted, while knowing that Jim was always a text away if we needed to ask him about anything. However, we hardly needed to contact him, as the place was near-perfect in almost every way.
One of the few times we did need to contact him was to report that we found a bunch of small ants living in the base of a window when we opened it (it apparently had not been opened for a long time), but Jim was exterminating the area with Raid within minutes, so it was not an issue. More than anything, I was impressed by how well he handled the situation, and after living at the place for two months, we didn't run into any other mishaps.
Near the end of our stay, Jim was even gracious enough to bring my roommate and me on a Saturday fishing trip on his personal boat. He took us to his favorite spots, taught us about fishing, helped us enter a local weekly fishing contest with some of our catch, and let us keep some meat after showing us how to fillet the fish.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and I'd recommend Jim's place to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the area.
