Before I ventured into Airbnb, I was cautioned by some seasoned hosts to base my decision to accept guests into my home off of there public reviews. This unfortunately is a reaffirmation of this sound advice. We have been extremely lucky until now to have wonderful individuals in our home. Unfortunately facts are facts regardless of an individuals stated employment. As soon as my cleaning ladies opened the door to our home the smell of marijuana was over powering. Not as if they smoked in the house... but had it present in the home. A text was sent to me immediately upon their entrance to the home. It was strong enough that they spent some time looking for left overs or remnants of the plant under furniture, in cushions, etc... Additionally, a shower curtain placed over the window in the shower of the bathroom that none of my previous guests, nor my family that stayed in the home for 10 years ever had an issue with was ripped off the bar holding it from the middle. Due to having more guests arriving to our home after Josh's stay, we had no choice but to pay our cleaning company to spend more time at the home to deal with eradicating the smell of marijuana and buy a new shower curtain. This is the reason why we are requesting his deposit for his stay in our home. Although we have had a negative experience with this particular guest, we look forward to hosting families in our home and sharing what we have to offer.
