The amount of interaction with guests is totally up to the you. It is a shared venue so naturally there will be some conversation. Rod is very social and always up for a coffee or a wine and a chat. He tries to meet each group with a complimentary beverage and snacks for the hungry travellers. If you like being in the kitchen maybe ask about a cooking lesson.

If you have a group of 10+ or you want the place totally to yourself, Rod's bed/room will need to be used. Rod is prepared to move to a hotel, however, this incurs additional costs subject to availability. Usually starting at $110 per night.

Prepared Meals
Many groups are taking the option of spending their first night in with a special meal prepared by Rod. It's been popular with groups as people arrive from different places, they just want to sit n relax and reacquaint with new or old friends. Having this all happen at The Loft saves hours of valuable time ( no getting ready or travel to and from the restaurant). The place is just as comfortable as a restaurant and if you're keen you can watch or help prepare and get a lesson. You can invite existing Melbourne mates over also. Menus range from Budget $55 per head to Lavish $155 per head Meals start around $50. The basic 3 course meal consists of Finger food, main shared arrangement ( large slow cooks or salads) and dessert. Rod can match wines and beers for an extra $45 or you BYO.

The Loft is a non smoking venue.

The front glass door to the foyer has a tendency not to click shut (particularly if there is a window open in the common area). This is a major security concern and is the responsibility of all owners and guests. Please ensure that you physically pull this door closed after entering or leaving the building.

To let someone into the building from the Loft (after hearing the buzzer). Please pick up the phone (on wall next to front door) to chat to the person and identify them. You'll notice a small opening in the front of the phone where a button used to be. In the opening there is a smaller red button. Press this and instruct the person to pull the door open firmly. You might need to repeat this action. Please be sure you know all people entering the doors.

Please do not answer the home phone. It can only be tele marketers or my mum and she knows to call me on the mobile!!

For neighbour harmony there's to be no loud music after midnight. I value their friendship far too much and do not wish to jeopardise this. If you'd like the music volume up during the appropriate hours, please use the dining/kitchen speakers. THIS IS A STRICT NOISE POLICY.
When removing makeup please use the wipes provided and not the towels. You'll be asked to replace damaged linen and artifacts.

If you are inviting guests other that the number you've indicated on the booking confirmation, you need to let Rod know as to the number of visitors and the purpose of their visit. It is you're responsibility to inform these visitors of the Loft procedures (door, noise, deck) and please do not share keys with them.

Speak to Rod if you have any questions or interesting requests.

I am a passionate educator who has recently taken the plunge and started a private consultancy. I design and conduct courses for teachers and students involving ICT, Inquiry and Assessment which will build efficient resilient and motivated 21C learners. I have also started running iPad courses for adults.

I've set my warehouse space up so it can be used in so many ways. Several walls are on pivots and wheels to allow for private intimate function to a product launch, photo shoot or small business conference.

I run a small event management/catering enterprise which means there is usually something cooking on the stove. Let me know if you'd like meals supplied. I also offer gift vouchers for stays with a difference. You can buy these for yourself or for a friend and involved you selecting activities or services from a list and shaping a holiday experience that suits you perfectly. You can even suggest things that are not on the list. For more information go to the lodgings tab at my website - loftonlangridge
