Nestling on the easterly slopes of an unspoilt valley, Glyngynwydd is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty amid mountains, hills, lakes and rivers. South of Llanidloes we stand in twelve acres of land which include; woodland, a wildlife pond, meadow, relaxing gardens and our own stream and dingle for our guests to enjoy.

A pathway leads to the garden and barbecue area. There is also a fully equipped laundry room with barbecue equipment and ball games. Unfortunately the cottages are not suitable for wheelchair access.

What a find! I stayed as part of a business trip but if I had kids or a large family, this place would be brilliant. Wish I'd had more time to spend enjoying instead of working but will definitely go back xx free fresh eggs made a beautiful omelette

Great cottage in a great location! Hosts had provided everything we needed and the views from the door were lovely. We had to work while there and unfortunately the wifi was not always reliable.

We had a great time here and on arrival Carla really kindly surprised us with a bottle of prosecco because we'd got married a few days before. It is hard to reach if you don't drive and because of that it is really peaceful. The family are all really friendly and we were just left to it and not bothered. But they were on hand if we had any questions. Really picturesque and I'd stay again! Pros: Kitchen facility has everything and we bought and cooked food in there. We smashed a glass and Carla kindly didn't charge us. Supermarkets and places to eat are in driving distance. Living room is great, bring DVDs because signal can be dodgy but other than that the TV works fine. Very clean and tidy. Close to Aberystwyth and other activities like walking, horse riding etc. Bed really comfortable. Owners really kind and helpful. Cons: The walls are thin so we could hear people talking outside and the guests and dog next door. It was quite cold in the rooms but there is a portable heater and a free lump of coal. Our bathroom had a communal clothes washing line outside and so we permanently had the blinds down because you could see right in from outside. Bathroom is downstairs so not easy for the middle of the night. WiFi didn't work most of the time and no mobile signal.

Me and my partner and son managed to pick a few sunny days mid week in this charming barn conversion just a mile or two outside of Llandiloes. Carla was there to greet us and within minutes our little boy was playing in the stream outside feeling well at home. We'd brought a few essentials but it was good to see that the kitchen had what we needed to settle in anyway, and the Bara Brith as others had mentioned was a fab and kept us going all week. The surrounding property is fab for short walks and finding some quiet time to yourself, as well as giving the kids a chance to run around a bit, it's well back from the main road and very peaceful. The animals, including Guinness the Dog, were fun to have around but weren't loud or obtrusive, I loved watching the ducks waddling about. We were in what seemed to be one of the smaller cottages but it didn't feel cramped at all, but cosy, and the pictures do show how clean and well-finished the rooms were. Llandiloes itself is not really walk-able from the cottage, just a 5 minute car trip and it has some fab little shops/pubs that are worth exploring. It's a really great spot to go explore Mid-Wales, with quite a few magical touches, we're considering going back again in the next year or two!

Staying in Ty Canol Bach was perfect! The location was amazing, the place was clean and homely. We sadly didn't get to meet Carla but the back-up hosts were welcoming and friendly, and Carla kept in contact to ensure everything was easy. The welcoming fruit cake was hugely appreciated, and the woods, animals, Guiness the dog, and amenities on site were wonderful. I'd recommend staying here to anyone, and we'd definitely return if visiting the area again. Thanks, Carla!

Carla and her family made us very welcome. The cottages were absolutely delightful. Their lovely dog, Guinness, was also an absolute delight. The cottages were comfortable and provided everything we could possibly need, including very comfy beds (not something you can take for granted when booking accommodation). The fresh eggs for Carla's chickens and the Bara Brith baked for us by her husband Adam made us feel extremely welcome. We would most definitely book another visit if we are in the area again. Carla's advice about where to eat out, and clarity about the budget needed was spot on and there is so much to do in the area that we will need to return to do the things we didn't have time for this week. Thank you Carla, we loved our stay.

My family and I moved from Surrey in January 2014 having decided to try something different. At the moment we have 3 children, 1 dog, 8 chickens and are hoping to get some piglets soon! We're loving our new home in Llanidloes and have met some great people here both locally and through Airbnb.
