The place was as advertised. Emily is a great host. Although the place is not big (as she mentions in the post), she takes good care of the place. Clean, good location. I spent about a week, and didnt find any difficulty. She also gave her parking spot to me. She even had a message on a white board when I reached the place. Excellent communication.

It's exactly like what Emily stated in the listing itself. Checking in is easy and Emily did made sure everything is clean before you check in. It's five minutes walk from Caltrain station and generally you wouldn't have any problem looking for the place. Emily is very accommodating and while she had some argument with her partner at times, it didn't really bothered me that much. But if you're a light sleeper, you might want to ask them to keep the voice low. Bed is comfortable and you get to use tons of stuffs in your room which is a huge bonus. Generally I'm really happy with my stay.

If you work at G*, this place is excellent for short-term stays. It's right next a building, so you can you their bikes to go to the main campus. THe add is accurate, in that there is very little space. That can be dealt with, but be ready for reduced intimacy. Emily is a very dedicated host. She gave me her best fan in order to cool down my room and constantly (maybe a little too much) apologized for the "smallness" of her apartment. However, her constant bickering with her roommate can be VERY distracting. They scream at each other for a long time, even in the evening. Also, the apartment and the room and easily can scorching hot very easily. So if you're looking for a long-term stay, be ready to sweat.

To be fair, Bryan and I spoke about this and I was able to pinpoint why I was getting frustrated during your stay. Renting a room to a stranger on airbnb is difficult for the host for a variety of reasons... roommates leave their trash in the room and expect me to pick it up; they never offer to help clean; they leave their door open and complain about a lack of privacy; they don't wash their hands after using the restroom and then proceed to touch all of my dishes in the kitchen... the list goes on and on. The guest sees their host as the person to take care of them and do virtually 'everything' around the house while the guest works on blogs and plays video games. Some hosts don't work and I can see where it would be easy for them to do everything for the guest. But some hosts do work and finding the energy and time to do 'everything' is extremely stressful, especially when the guest expects it. I will admit that towards the last few days of your stay, I was getting extremely frustrated. I was constantly washing the forks you left in the sink, cleaning the door handles after you used the restroom, being kicked out of the shower so you could use the bathroom, and taking out 'your' trash. Did I feel like I was treated fairly? No. Did I vent about it during your last few days? Yes. But perhaps that is what happens when you have three adults living in such a small space and nobody wins. I will have to do some long thinking about whether I want to continue renting the room under these circumstances. Regardless, thank you for the review and I wish you the best in all your future endeavors. We are sorry the room was hot. It is not normal for the bay to be that hot in April and we were not properly prepared. We are working on ways to resolve the issue.

Emily was very welcoming, kind and helpful host. She always tried to me help whenever I have any trouble, and accommodate accordingly. She even offered me a discount when we need me to checkout early. The other host (they have two hosts) was also nice guy, but a little bit loud because he used to play a video game at night time. (But not that late night, so perfectly okay considering you pay that much cheaper bucks than that of hotels in Bay area.) However, the problem is that they used to fight. I stayed 3 nights and they fought 2 nights. First fight is a small fight but for the last night they were in a very serious fighting until 4 am. I could not sleep at all at that night and even felt unsafe. I don't know this is only my occasion or it sometimes happens, but I hope at least they consider and take care the guest sleeping at their room traveling the Bay area. My next day schedule got totally messed as I was so tired after this long night. The room was as same as the photo describes, and Emily was nice and kind, and everything else worked out perfectly. In sum, she was one of the best hosts I ever met but ironically the worst experience of the staying at AirBnB.

Hi junyong. I do remember the night to which you are referring. I do apologize, first of all, that we kept you up late. He and I were having a debate and we had no idea it was keeping you up. This is definitely not a common occurrence so I am sorry that it happened during your stay. Something we encourage all of our guests to do is that if we are being too loud to go ahead and let us know. We are more than happy to accommodate the needs and expectations of our guests. Had we known we were keeping you up, we would have kept it quiet. Regardless, thank you for the candid response and for being a great guest. I am sorry that your stay was less than stellar.

It was great staying with Emily. The apartment is as described and very close to caltrain station. Emily was even so kind to drive me to the airport after my check-out.
