We are on the Spearhead Drive curve closest to the Wizard chair at the "right" end of the building (the unit closest to the slopes).  Out the door, down a few steps and you are on your way to the hill or the Village.Two super comfy leather recliner rockers and a cosy sectional provides comfortable seating for six.  The carpet is being replaced with hardwood flooring.

Please note that the pictures posted are all prior to a full renovation in the summer and fall of 2016. The newly renovated condo is a two level 1,200 square foot (112 square meters), three bedroom, two bathroom corner unit with vaulted ceilings located on the ski hill end of the building. It is a three minute walk to the slopes or a five minute walk to the Upper Village and Blackcomb Base. Powderhorn Lodge is located on Blackcomb Mountain immediately above the Upper Village and adjacent to the second Wizard chairlift tower from the bottom.

The renovation carried out in the summer and fall of 2016 fully renovated the main level and also added a new 400 square foot (37 square meters)loft level overlooking the living room. This loft level has more than adequate visual privacy and adds two distinct living areas separated by a new bathroom. One new living area houses a queen sized bed while the other area offers a spacious sitting area with a sofa bed. A flat screen TV pivots on a wall mount to accommodate both areas. The new bathroom features a Thermasol two bench steam shower with large format porcelain tiles, a rain shower head, frameless glazing, large format porcelain floor tiles and in-floor radiant heating. Pocket doors on either side of the bathroom allow convenient entry from both areas of the loft. The loft level can be accessed both by the internal staircase and from a new 3rd level corridor door.

The main level is also completely renovated. The new kitchen is a white shaker style with complimenting quartz countertops, an undermount double sink and new stainless appliances. The following reviews are based upon the kitchen before the renovation:
“a watered down basic kitchen this is not – all of the tools necessary to cook the trappings of gourmet food” “all of the comforts of home that one would find in the kitchen” “We found everything we possibly needed and more to cook a great Thanksgiving dinner”. The new kitchen will be as well stocked as the old kitchen.

The new flooring consists of gray brown oak hardwood and new carpet throughout. The entire condo has received a fresh coat of white paint and is in like new condition. Our intent has been to transform what was already a lovely condo in a spectacular setting into a spectacular condo in a spectacular setting. We can't wait to post pictures of the finished product!

-North and west window exposures keeps the apartment cool on hot summer days (very important in the summer). Surrounded by pine trees and very private from inside and from the covered deck.
-Cable TV including sports channels, Apple TV and Netflicks. 40" Samsung smart TV in the living room. Smaller flat screen in the master. New flat screen in the loft. Speakers are provided to plug in your ipod or phone. Free wifi. Crib board, games and guitar available for your use.
-Very well equipped and stocked kitchen with a table that comfortably seats six. Condiments, spices, oils, vinegars, tea and coffee provided. Espresso maker, sharp knives, new stainless cookware and most of the gadgets and accessories. Lots of dishes, cutlery, wine glasses, martini glasses etc. Stainless BBQ on the covered deck plus seating for four.
-In-suite washer and dryer.
-Beautiful shared rooftop hot tub with adjacent bathroom, shower and change room facilities. Very nice views and stargazing from the hot tub.
-Private Thermasol steam shower with two benches.
-Secure free reserved underground parking for one car plus numerous guest spots on a first come basis.
-Secure underground ski and bike rooms.
-Ski locks and boot and glove dryer provided.
-Free shuttle to the lifts, Village and other points in Whistler stops right outside the door and runs frequently.
-Small grocery store, liquor store, ski and bike rentals and great restaurants a five minute walk away. Large grocery store, liquor store, McDonalds, etc. a five minute drive (or take the free shuttle).
-Paved bike \ walking path right outside the door.
-Lost Lake (absolutely gorgeous undeveloped swimming lake surrounded by mountain bike, snow shoe and cross country trails) is a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute bike ride.
-Whistler mountain bike park is a five minute ride.
-Surrounded by advanced (Blackcomb mountain) and novice (Lost Lake Park) mountain bike trails.
-This accommodation is self check-in and self check-out (lock box). We will not be present during your stay but we will generally be available to help or answer questions by email, phone or text. We are more than happy to give you suggestions on where to go and what to do to make your stay memorable.
Our Hosting Philosophy:
We have stayed in many rental places over the years and most often the cleaning appears more or less superficial, there are items missing or in poor shape and it is usually quite clear that we are staying in a rental unit. We strive not to leave that impression. We personally use our condo very regularly and we maintain it accordingly. We do our own cleaning and prep - a process that takes six hours on average and we make sure that everything is clean and ready for you. We are happy to give advice and will respond to your questions promptly before and during your stay. In short we take our hosting responsibilities seriously and we do our best to make sure your Whistler stay is a great experience. We love our Whistler condo and we think you will as well.

Guests have access to everything in the unlocked cupboards and fridge including spices, condiments and coffee etc.

We are responsive to our guests and upon request we are more than happy to provide recommendations and advice on just about anything both before and during your trip.

Powderhorn Lodge is located in the “Benchlands” area on Blackcomb Mountain immediately above the Upper Village and adjacent to the second chairlift tower from the bottom of the Wizard chairlift. True ski in ski out in Whistler occurs at Whistler Creek, the Main Village, the Upper Village and Blackcomb Benchlands. Whistler Creek is several kilometers from the Main Village (where most of the "action" is) and is close to Highway 99 (traffic noise). The Main Village is fun and full of hotels, shops, bars and restaurants but is crowded year round and is sometimes quite loud until late at night. It is a great place to visit but not necessarily a great place to stay. The Upper Village is at Blackcomb Base and is quieter than the Main Village and very close to lift access (the Wizard high speed quad). This is where some of the best and most expensive hotels are located. The Benchlands, which is where Powderhorn is located (on the map we are just past where Spearhead Place intersects with Spearhead Drive), is immediately above the Upper Village and adjacent to the Wizard Chair. The Wizard Chair accesses all of Blackcomb as well as Whistler Mountain via the Peak to Peak Gondola (a gondola that connects the peaks of both mountains). The runs on the bottom 2/3rds of both mountains are mostly green and blue runs. The top 1/3rd is where most of the black runs are located as well as blue and green runs. In many a local's opinion the Benchlands is the best location in Whistler and I think our guests generally agree with this. It is easy walking distance to everything you want yet quiet and peaceful. Whether you are skiing, biking, hiking, shopping or swimming and tanning at Lost Lake this is the place to stay. You will probably not drive much after you arrive.

A free bus stops approximately 60 feet from our door. This bus runs very frequently and takes you to Blackcomb base or the Main Village in 5 to 10 minutes. Super convenient. Bus transportation is available to Powderhorn Lodge from the Vancouver Airport or downtown Vancouver.

The maximum number of occupants shall be no more than the number listed for this unit. All guests must be at least 25 unless accompanied by parents.

When you rent the unit you agree:
-Not to smoke or allow any of your guests to smoke in the unit. Smoking is allowed on the deck with the doors closed but please use an ashtray.
-Not to allow any pets in the unit or on the property.
-Not to cause a nuisance or disturbance or use the unit of complex property for any illegal purpose.
-Not to flush any baby wipes or sanitary napkins down the toilet.
-To remove all trash and recyclables to the receptacles in the underground parking area, ensure all dishes and cookware are clean, and return any furniture that was moved to its original position.
-To follow all instructions regarding the use of appliances, electric or electronic devices, hot tub and fireplace.
-That the shared hot tub is provided for the enjoyment of all guests. Use is at your own risk and complex rules relating to use must be adhered to.
-To abide by the quiet times for the complex.
-No skis, snowboards or bikes in the unit. Please use the ski \ bike storage located in the parkade.
-No grad, stag or stagette events.
-Do not run appliances after 10 pm or before 8 am.
-Have a great stay!

Guests will be responsible for all damage or loss to the unit and the complex property, except normal wear and tear. Any damage or loss to the unit or complex property will result in a charge for replacement, repair or loss to your credit card up to $500, but in no way shall such charge or deducution limit your liability in respect of such damage or loss.

The Owners are not liable to you or your guests or any other person for any injury, loss or damage to any person or property on or about the unit or the complex property. You agree to hold the Owners harmless and indemnified from and against all loss, injury or damage occasioned by the use or misuse or abuse of the unit or any part of it or the complex property, by you or any of your guests.

Any breach of these rental policies may result in the immediate termination of occupancy and forfeiture of all payments.

We live in North Vancouver and love the mountains. We love to hike, bike, golf and Doug is an avid lifelong skier. We looked at many places to buy in Whistler and kept coming back to this one as it had a much nicer feel to it compared to the others we considered. Newly purchased as of June 2014 and we can't wait to enjoy! We think you will really enjoy it as well!
