Remote and quiet, the old farmhouse offers cosy comfort with majestic views and stunning walks on the doorstep.
The border between wales and Shropshire is the place for space and freedom, come and try it.

There has been a farm here for several hundred years. The house (at the end of a mile long track) occupies a position overlooking a secluded valley that reaches from 'the Callow' to the north, Corndon Hill to the east and Chirbury to the west.
This is my Home and i offer guests Bed and breakfast when they come to stay, but there are several pubs and restaurants within an easy drive for supper.
I believe in casual cosy comfort and i do my best to extend that atmosphere to all my guests.

The House has 2 interconnecting bedrooms, a double and a double with extra single bed. There is a bath room, and separate w.c. A sitting room with TV and log burner. The cosy kitchen where you can make hot or cold drinks and prior arrangements can be made if you would like me to provide supper.

This is my home and i will be living here (with my 2 dogs) during your stay, but i will be around for as much or as little as you want.

This part of the Shropshire/ Welsh border is both accessible and remote. The surrounding hills are beautiful and interesting, the local pubs hospitable with good food and plenty of local atmosphere.

From the house there are several local walks. Stapley common and the standing stones of Mitchells Fold are about 30 minutes with Corndon hill and the iron age fort beyond.

Powys castle is a 10 minute drive with its exceptional gardens and magical history.
Further afield there is lots to explore within a 40 minutes drive. You can go gliding on the Long Mynd; ride; cycle; walk through the stiperstones; canoe on the river Severn; fish on numerous lakes or take a trip on the old steam railway.

There is no public transport.
The nearest station is Welshpool or Shrewsbury but really a car is the most convenient. There is plenty of parking but if you're getting low on fuel fill up before you leave the A5 as there isn't a garage between Shrewsbury and Chirbury.

Règlement intérieur
L'entrée dans les lieux se fait à partir de 16:00

I would hope my guests would treat my home with the respect that i would treat theirs. I don't have hard and fast rules about smoking but not in the bedrooms please.

Frankie is a warm genuine welcoming person. She sent detailed directions before travelling and was flexible as we were going to reach late. Frankie cooked fantastic meals which we all enjoyed! Frankie has tastefully decorated the house, clean and homely - we felt comfortable. She suggested number of places which were gems in their own right - not too far from Rorrington! We will cherish this vacation, will go again and definitely recommend! Good luck Frankie!

We had a wonderful time at the farm of Frankie. Outside is a lot of nothing. Which makes this place very special. Its good the sun works otherwise you would not know what time it is. Inside is a lot of everything. Wherever you look there's something to discover. We haven't heard all the storys. Although we were there for four days it was too short. Frankie is a very good and caring and creative host with humor and the best hand for cooking a great breakfast. At this place there is no other world. Only nature and a very kind host. Thank you for the very good time!

We stayed with Frankie for 3 nights in July. She was quick to respond to the booking query and patient with my difficulties completing the verification process. Directions were easy to follow and despite its remoteness the house is easy to find. Its location is stunning, in a beautiful valley which overlooks Stapeley Common and Cordon Hill. Make sure you climb the hill if you get the chance (car park near then the stone circle then take the track that winds around the back of the hill to the summit) as the views are spectacular and the bench welcome! Stiperstones is another must-visit if you have the time. You don’t get a sense of quite how incredibly old the house is until you get inside then… Wow! It’s amazing. There are many original features which Frankie has styled in her very quirky and eclectic taste. This isn’t one of the run-of-the-mill B&Bs for sure! Frankie has just as much a character as her home. She’s a very interesting and companionable host with a welcoming and helpful style. She does a great breakfast with ‘proper’ porridge too! This is a great place to stay and there is much to see in the area with its unspoilt natural beauty and remarkably few tourists. Highly recommended!

Everything about our stay at Frankie's place was wonderful. Our communication in preparing for the trip was great, with Frankie replying to any queries promptly and her giving very clear instructions on how to find the house and what to expect. The house and its location are great and completely as described. It is remote (no traffic and very safe!) - up a long farm track - and has amazing views. The rooms are very large and comfortable - the fresh flowers in the bedroom were a lovely touch. I loved the colourful decor. The house is surrounded by fields (with sheep of course) and has lovely grounds (with interesting options for glamping). It is great walking country. Frankie cooks the best English breakfast (using the classic Rayburn) - and can do a good supper too if you ask. She was also great company, happy to provide local information, discuss our needs as guests, and talk about life in general - if we wanted; leaving us to ourselves otherwise. Of course it is her house and she lives and works here. We also loved Widget and Coco (Frankie's dogs), and Andrea and her mates (chickens)! It really was an all-round idyllic experience we would thoroughly recommend for anyone in need of a break. From the house it is also only about 20 minutes to get to Powis Castle, which is absolutely worth a visit. We had dinner at the Sun Inn in Marton, which we would also recommend. Unfortunately we only stayed 2 nights, so we couldn't explore the local walks and other amenities.

Frankie made us very welcome - indeed even if her house was not beautiful just meeting Frankie would had made it a great weekend! The house is quirky, full of character and style. However, it has all the modern facilities including a nice power shower. The kitchen is a great room to sit and talk in and Frankie cooks a magnificent breakfast. Our room was large and very characterful - the bed was so comfortable. The house sits in a beautiful valley with spectacular hills - countryside which just begs to be walked. It is incredibly peaceful but although it is peaceful it is only 10 minutes drive back to the main road. Frankie's directions to her house were clear and sensible. Overall a great week-end and we would love to return but although the house and surrounds are wonderful it is Frankie who is the real star!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Frankie's beautiful home. The area is wonderfully remote - great walking territory - and Frankie is a warm and supremely accommodating host. We would love to go back and would highly recommend this for anyone who wants to escape from it all. Thank you Frankie for all your generous hospitality and the amazing breakfasts!

Hello! I'm Frankie and I'm lucky enough to live on what i think is one of the most beautiful hills on the edge of Wales. I walk, fish, travel a lot and I love to cook and entertain my friends. Airbnb gives me the chance to share this beautiful spot with others who will hopefully appreciate it as much as I do - I look forward to welcoming you to my home....
