We are a down to earth and friendly family run business. We hope that you will enjoy staying with us in our rustic 100 year old cottages. As part of your stay why participate in our farm tour where you will get to meet our friendly farm animals.

Cottage 2 is the smaller of our cottages, with 2 bedrooms it can sleep up to 5 people. Being fully self contained, it means that you can make this cottage your complete home away from home!

Make Waitomo Farmstay and Gardens your base to explore all the adventures and sights the gorgeous Waitomo District has to reveal! We are situated on 20 fertile acres used to rear calves, and graze sheep, pigs, cattle, goats and Llama.

As part of staying at Waitomo Farmstay and Gardens you may also like to partake in our free farm tour where Narita will take you around to meet all the animals. A great opportunity to hand feed animals and have your picture taken with them!

We enjoy meeting new people and like to make our guests stay as pleasant as possible. As we are a family run business our children accompany guests on the farm tour and help mum with the animals.

Waitomo has the world famous Glow Worm Caves, which are situated only minutes from our farmstay. There are also many other things to see and do within a short car ride from us: Black Water Rafting, Abseiling, Ruakuri Native Bush Walk (with glow worms to see at night), and the Native Bird Park.

Waitomo is central to the North Island, making it a perfect base to travel to Rotorua, Tauranga, Raglan, Hamilton, Matamata, Auckland, Taupo or anywhere in between!

There is a train and bus stop in both Otorohanga and Te Kuiti which are only a short drive from us. With prior arrangement we can offer a courtesy pick up/drop off option to our guests.

This cottage has a full kitchen, bathroom, washing machine and shared clothes line.

We are available to guests at all times during your stay. Each morning you may like to participate in farm life by coming on our free farm tour where you will have the opportunity to meet and feed our friendly farm animals.

Waitomo is home to the world famous Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, but is also fairly central to many other fantastic towns and cities. Make Waitomo Farmstay and Gardens your base as you explore what this area has to offer.

For those guests who are reliant on public transport, the bus/train drop off points are within a few kilometres of Waitomo Farmstay and Gardens. If you need some further assistance with transport, mention this in your e-mail and we will do our best to assist in getting you here!

We offer a complimentary continental breakfast (cereal, bread, jam, marmite, butter, fruit and yoghurt) as part of our stay with us.

Waitomo Farmstay is conveniently located on the intersection of State Highways 3 and 31, and only 8km from Waitomo Caves!

Our address is 22 Waitomo Caves Road, Hangatiki. We are 100 metres from the Waitomo Caves Roundabout. Our driveway is on the righthand side.

Cute little nearly 100 year old farm house. Very clean and nice. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Genuine farms stay. Plenty for the kids and just a few kms to Waitomo caves. Near main road turnoff so a few trucks about. Full size house with large living space and dining table. Older style kitchen and bathroom but both fully functional. Fresh eggs, butter and jam made for a great breakfast. Very enjoyable stay.

The place was lovely, a 1920's hut. Narita was a great host and she had a beautiful gesture by leaving some food in the fridge for breakfast! ❤

We stayed in Cottage 2, and this had plenty of space for the 5 of us. The accommodation was homely and comfortable. We found the bed a little springy for our liking. There was a neat little kitchen and the fridge was stocked with all the things we needed for a yummy breakfast. In the morning our kids really enjoyed going around and helping out with the animal feeding. This place is a great spot to stay while checking out the caves.
