Le logement

Hello! This beautiful bedroom, with exposed brick, has 3 windows overlooking Central Park in my renovated three bedroom apartment in Manhattan on the Upper West Side. This classic New York building is turn-of-the century (pre-war), on the corner of Central Park West and 100th street... across the street is Central Park!

The apartment is conveniently located near subways and buses... within walking distance to over a dozen museums, and you can get almost anywhere in Manhattan within 20-40 minutes, door-to door!

** Just to clarify, since the question comes up a lot, I am only renting this bedroom, not the entire apartment. If you need another room, or this one is not available, I have a dedicated guest bedroom with private bathroom - see my "other listings" listed below on the right side of webpage**

The room is a large furnished bedroom with 3 windows overlooking the park, which is across the street. When you wake up in the morning you see trees and the open sky! There is beautiful brick wall on two sides, dark hardwood floors, and a marble bathroom (shared, not private) in the hallway. The room has a closet, dresser, small shelf and a very comfortable full-size Kings Down bed (praised in my reviews!).

This is my own bedroom, which I rent out either when I am traveling, or to interesting guests (in which case I'll stay downtown). Please write to inquire on availability and I'll do my best to accommodate. Please note that if I rent this room to you, I won't be in the apartment during your stay, but will be readily available by cellphone, txt or email.

I will supply sheets and towels. The room will comfortably fit a couple. You are welcome to hang out in the large and comfortable living room during your stay. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen as much (or little) as you want. If you have a lot of luggage, you can always store them in the living room, under the piano.

This is a large, furnished, 3 bedroom apartment with 2 marble bathrooms & kitchen (approx 1200 sq ft). It is a beautifully renovated pre-war building, we are on the 4th floor (walk-up). There is wi-fi in the apartment. I have one great roommate, who is mostly out during the daytime and a guest room mostly used for AirBnB. Most guests say this apartment looks like the quintessential New York City apartment, being right on Central Park with the brick walls in every room, fire escape, grand piano, and dark wood floors.

Since I am a composer and music producer the apartment is filled with musical things... photos and posters from my shows, musical instruments, and my studio setup. I also have a 6ft baby-grand Baldwin piano which guests can play during the day, when myself and my roommate are out of the apartment.

The neighborhood is residential area that is quiet and safe! The Police and Fire station is 2 blocks away. We are also within 2 blocks from a lot of stores including Whole Foods, several pharmacies, banks, a bakery, and dry cleaner. 3 blocks away on Broadway are tons of restaurants, and many deliver.

We are located right on Central Park West on the Upper West Side of Manhattan - a very residential area. You can get almost anywhere in Manhattan within 20-40 minutes. Within walking distance of the apartment are more then a dozen museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim, Natural History Museum, Hayden Planetarium, Neue Gallery, Jewish Museum, and many more. Also within walking distance is the famous "Tom's Diner"used in Seinfeld!

The 96th street B and C subway is a 2 minute walk from the building. Within 20 minutes (by subway) you can be in Times Square and the theater district for Broadway Shows. Within 20 to 40 min you can be almost anywhere in Manhattan! You can walk thru the park in about 15 or 20 minutes to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim, or the Natural History Museum. From any of the main airports it will take about 1.5hrs to Newark or JFK by public transportation and 45-60 min by taxi. To Laguardia about 60 min by public transportation and 25-30 min by taxi.

If you are new to NYC, I am more then happy to help explain how to get places, recommendations, and answer any questions - I grew up in NYC!

Considerate, clean and quiet guests only... no party animals please :-)

Please be aware that this building is a 4th floor walk up. If you were to need any assistance with your luggage just let me know I'll be glad to help.

We unfortunately didn't get to meet Patrick during our short trip to NYC, however he was extremely accommodating with our last minute booking. He provided us with very descriptive instructions on where we can find the keys to check in and everything was ready for us upon our arrival. The apartment is obviously old and has its quirks, but Patrick made us aware of everything we should know (i.e. hold flush on toilet, wait for water to warm up in shower, don't have two AC units on at once, etc.)

This is my first time using airbnb. Patrick is well organized for the whole process. The place is nice, clean, and safe neighbourhood, something especially important for a traveler that stays out late. Overall the experience is awesome.

Location, location, location! Loved being right on the park! So close to subway too. Had a great stay.

The apartment is very easy to find and near transport. Patrick's directions were clear and welcoming. It's up a few flights of stairs which was not a problem for me as I had very little luggage but might be if you have heavy stuff. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and I was very comfortable. It was August and really hot but turning on the ancient, noisy but functional air conditioning for ten minutes now and then made it very liveable!

Aside from a little frustration at the beginning due to a scheduling issue, I had a good experience. It is a nice spot- clean and in a great location. Once we met, Patrick was a personable host and we had a good rapport and really enjoyable conversation. He otherwise managed to give me all the space that I needed and even allowed me a little extra time at the end.

Patrick was just wonderful! He stayed in touch with me prior to the stay and after I arrived. The apt is located right on Central Park, with the bedroom overlooking the park. Nearby, there is a convenient Metro stop, Whole foods and a Starbucks! The best part of staying in Patrick's place is the bed! Comfortable and large enough for two ! A wonderful holiday weekend in NYC! Thanks, Patrick!
