A classy little hideaway in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, five walking blocks to the beach. This artist designed studio apartment is small but elegant. The corner couch converts to a single or a double+ size bed*. The third person would sleep on a bed-height blowup bed with a tempurpedic topper. We move the table and chairs to the porch to accommodate the blowup. There's an extra $25 fee for the blowup. Of course the addition of the blowup makes the space a bit smaller but doable. The kitchen annex is small but complete and open to the living area. There is HDTV, WIFI, a washer dryer and gated private off street parking. The apartment has exclusive use of the front porch of a lovely craftsman style house on a charmingly landscaped, fully enclosed private property in the center of the entertainment district and four blocks up from the beach(5 walking blocks). BBQ on your porch. Eat fresh fruit from the property and use the free bicycles for car free, stress free living. The owner grew up in the house (and also happens to be the artist). Enjoy a thoughtfully designed and well loved home in a little bit of paradise.
*This is not your ordinary bed couch. It is uniquely designed and fabulously comfortable. It pulls out and pops up to create a flat surface. In the t.v. cupboard are a thick tempurpedic mattress covered in a duvet (sheet) that you put on the flat surface of the couch. It offers a very comfortable sleep surface. There's a blanket also covered in a duvet to throw on top. Pillows are in the closet.

All the privacy you want and all the help you need.
This is the smallest of three luxury apartments I have developed in the house I grew up in. We have been blessed with wonderful guests.. Because this is one of three apartments in the house, it isn't a good choice for loud, late night partying (though normal enjoyment is greatly encouraged).

I take care of the property and guests on behalf of my cousin, Inga Frick. She grew up in the house with her mother and grandparents. Her grandfather ran a washing machine repair business in the house. He was known to me and the rest of the extended family as Papa Duck. He was beloved by all. The 3 DUX are so named in honor of him (Papa Dux, Mama Dux and Baby Dux)
