This review may be difficult to limit to just 500 words because there is so much to say. However, I will stick to the most concerning and unfortunate facts about our trip. Our issues were the following: Starting as far back as June 1st I had some simple questions about the nightly rates we were charged. There seemed to be a discrepancy between what the calendar said vs what we were charged. I was never given any clear answer on this issue. I was told to call airbnb about it and I did so. They in turn told me they would ask Ryan and get back to me - this never happened. Numerous times I asked for clarification and was provided absolutely nothing in response. So arriving in SD it is in the back of my mind that we are paying $470/night on a place that's listed @ $299/night on the website. The sole reason we picked this location was because one of the ladies would be allowed to bring her 5 lb yorkie pup. Most of us travel extensively and know what a $470/night accommodation should be. · 2/4 of us arrive in town after a night shift and have had no sleep yet we cannot check in until 4 because the "cleaners are there" · when we arrive our door codes do not work · we’ve been stalling for 5 hours waiting for 4 o’clock and never imagined we would have trouble opening the doors · our phones are dying and most of us have to go to the bathroom. We walk to a store down the block in order to charge our phones and call for help. · the young lady we were finally able to contact on the phone appeared irritated with us and was in essence unhelpful · after sitting on the concrete in the sun for about an hour I asked a guy (staying 2 doors down) if he had the same trouble when they arrived. Not sure how he did it but 20 minutes later this guy came out, to where we’re still sitting, and somehow had the codes to OUR DOORS. Mind you we work in a hospital setting and one of us sits on the “Crimes against Women” board for our hospital. THE YOUNG MEN 2 DOORS DOWN HAVE CODES TO OUR CONDO - imagine how well this fact went over. Inside: The place is FILTY. There cannot possibly have been cleaning people inside all morning. Layers of dust. Used disgusting old bars of soap in tub…. Etc. · It’s HOT. So we open windows. Every single screen is torn letting swarms of flies in. No blinds in front room. One of the 2 rooms in 3364 cannot be used – no windows and like a furnace in there · No one wants to sleep with windows open for safety reasons – dumpster divers at all hours of the night The list goes on and on.....

:( I take reviews very seriously. I encourage future guests to see all my hundreds of positive reviews. I worked constantly to appease Rey during her stay (and for weeks after) but sometimes a group is just a horrible fit for Airbnb, doesn't understand the site or the kind of community we all are, and they use the review as a weapon. To address one of the few points in the review that was not fabricated or exaggerated, we have absolutely resolved the keyless lock issue and they are working great! All the screens have been replaced and windows look great, so thanks to Rey for the feedback. If future guests have any questions or concerns about anything, please ask me. Had a GREAT time on this trip! Both units were exactly as the descriptions stated. Units were clean with ample towels and kitchenware...welcoming bottle of wine was a nice touch! Location is perfect for a VERY short walk to the beach/boardwalk and minutes walking distance on blvd to bike/paddle board rentals, restaurants, convenience stores and the roller coaster! One feedback would be to maybe install AC window units versus just the ceiling fans if possible. Thanks Ryan!!

Ryan was a great host! He tried to make things better from the beginning, when the code that was sent for entry was incorrect. He was there in a flash. Unfortunately, the place was not as expected. There were pictures missing from the walls, no mattress pads on any of the beds (also fixed by Ryan), no carafe for the coffee maker (new coffee maker brought in by Ryan), old sponges by the sinks and no hand soap available. We made a quick trip to the grocery store for soap and sponges. . . But, you shouldn't need to do this when you arrive after a long drive. The internet password was incorrect (fixed by Ryan), and the cable t.v. wasn't working. (only Netflix) The location is on a BUSY street - which would be okay, except that it was so hot, we had to keep the windows open to make it halfway comfortable. There were many people roaming by at night - loud and a bit tipsy. You cannot park on the street on M/W from 8 - 10 am AND on TTh from 8 - 10 am. We almost got a ticket, but ran out in time to move the car! Forget about finding close parking on Friday - Sunday. There are ceiling fans in every room except the bunk bed room which is super hot. The box fans helped, but were dirty. (The door to that room is the closed door that you see in the picture.) There are cleaning issues that could have been addressed and some amenities that would have been easy to add. (like washcloths and hand soap) Sorry Ryan, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Hi Susan - Thanks for your feedback; I'm happy to report everything has been addressed and would love to host you again free of charge so you can report back. As one of the first guests in this new unit, unfortunately there were some hiccups. I'm glad you appreciated that I was able to resolve them all right away and my recent guests report the units are running great! We've installed new ceiling fans in not only each bedroom, but the living room and dining room and the place is cozy and cool! The pictures on the walls were original paintings from the artist (also owner of the building) and have now been replaced with replicas. Cheers, Ryan
