Our 2 private suites (w/kitchenettes and bistro table and chairs) are nestled in a quiet corner of West End Village, Roatan; a short walk from snorkelling, dive shops, restaurants and our unique West End shopping. We are on the waterfront of Mangrove Bight with our own private dock.
Restful Studio 'B' at Casa Canuck: (see 'Casa Canuck A' for availability in our other Studio. Casa Canuck Suite A has a smaller sunnier deck and fewer windows.)
Casa Canuck has an amazing combination of proximity and seclusion in West End. Located on Mangrove Bight, you have only a short walk to the lively center of West End, or to some of the best snorkeling in the world at Half Moon Bay. At home, you can unwind in the quiet and peaceful setting of a tropical oasis, watching the hummingbirds, butterflies, geckos, and many other birds and wildlife.
You will be able to relax in your suite or on your private deck overlooking the mangroves and jungle greenery. You can also enjoy direct water access or an evening under the stars on our private dock on Mangrove Bight, and even arrange to be picked up or dropped off right at the dock for many water activities.

Our guests' comfort and relaxation is our main priority! We want your stay to be restful and easy, so we have thought of the little conveniences for you. Coffee? Salt and Pepper? Cold beverages in the fridge when you arrive? We thought of that! Flashlight? Umbrellas? Clothesline? We thought of that, too. Liquid Tide for hand washables? Hangers? Laundry basket? You bet. Scissors? Baggies? Can opener? Yes, even those! Wine glasses? Corkscrew? Candles? Definitely. There is an extra rod in the shower for hanging bathing suits, etc, free snorkel gear for you to borrow, free access to kayaks, and a local cell phone for you to use while you are here. Personal laundry can be arranged for a fee, and guests staying more than 12 days receive complimentary weekly maid service. "Yes, we thought of that!" And if we didn't, please let us know.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
We live upstairs full-time, so we are close by if you need anything, but we fully respect our guests' privacy. We are regular friendly people and would also enjoy sharing a visit and a beverage on the dock if you like!
During our time living here, we have learned about good restaurants, things to do, places to go and people that can help you with your Roatan vacation 'bucket list'. Let us know what you are interested in, and we will do our best to get you in contact with the right people.
AIRPORT / FERRY PICKUP: Let us know your arrival details and we will be at the airport or ferry to pick you up. We include a cold beer or cola or sprite or water (let us know your preference), a stop at the supermarket if you wish, and a comfortable short ride to Casa Canuck. Pickup and return is FREE for all of our guests.
We have a generator and live on-site, so you will still have a working water system and fridge (once we start the generator) if the power goes out.
Please, no smoking in or near the building. We love animals, but guests must not bring pets. We love children, too, but our suites are not suitable for youngsters. And if you enjoy other music besides the birds, the breeze, the boats and the seas, we ask that you keep your volume low. (Unless it is Salsa music, in which case you just need to invite us over!

We are from Northern Alberta, Canada and have four sons from age 21 to 29. Joan is a teacher, and Stan is 'Stan the Duct Man' - our HVAC and plumbing company in Northern Alberta.
In April of 2011, we came to Roatan for a single day during a cruise. The following Christmas we went on the same cruise with our four sons and spent the day in Roatan snorkelling in Half Moon Bay, two minutes from where our house would eventually be! There was just something about this beautiful little island that drew us back. In April of 2012 we came for a week vacation, looked at a few places with a realtor 'just for fun', and somehow ended up owning this fantastic house in this amazing location. We moved here to our main house to stay in July of 2013, and will continue renting our studios.
