The B&B was a convenient place to stop during our bike ride from the Eugene to Portland on the Willamette Valley scenic bikeway. Downtown Corvalis was only 3 miles away, connected by a wide bike path across a busy street from the home. The nice part of staying at someone's home is meeting friendly people, and Bob and Kelly were no exception. They were welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was comfortable and had all the basics. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, using fresh organic ingredients from Bob and Kelly's garden/farm. Enjoyed our stay.

Kelly is a great communicator and generous host. She and Bob bought their house and far a few years ago and have turned it into a little piece of heaven just minutes from downtown Corvalis. The guest rooms are clean and luxuriously appointed, with big comfy beds, and there is a downstairs living room area dedicated as a guest common space. Kelly served us an amazing home-cooked breakfast, customized to our dietary needs and preferences, including the most delicious fresh blackberry muffins I've ever tasted. Everything was so yummy I ended up eating way too much -- and she even sent us home with some extra muffins for the road. The other rooms were just as lovely as ours and there is plenty of space both indoors and out. Next time I hope to bring the whole family!

The place: this is a delightful home. Woods on two sides, and a rose garden, vegetable garden, and fields on the other side. There's a great deck to hang out in back. The bed was super-comfortable, and all in all, it's a nice place to hang out. The hosts: Bob and Kelly are absolutely wonderful. An example: when I discovered that I had left my pants in Portland and that the stores in Corvallis were closed, Bob lent me a pair for the conference that I had to attend the next day! The food: the breakfasts are delicious. It being summertime, there were fresh berries and fruit from the farm, and Bob and Kelly were super-understanding of my tendency to be an early riser and had hot coffee waiting for me when I got up. Location: the house is not far from Corvallis and lots of nice cafes and restaurants. However, it's far enough to make you feel like you're in the country--really a very nice area. I would absolutely stay here again--I can recommend this place with no reservations whatsoever!

Wandering Inn B & B is a 1930's home next to Owl Creek which is set back from Highway 34 in a garden with roses and other flowers in front and Redwood trees in back. Kelly made us feel welcome with a plate of La Mariposa Black Pepper Cheese, grapes, sliced lemon zucchini and crackers with ice water which was much appreciated on the hot afternoon. We were in the Creek Room on the 2nd floor, which is a nice size room with a very large closet in a second attached small room. At first we were a little concerned about the traffic noise from Highway 34. However, when the air conditioning unit was turned on at low volume, it not only kept the room cool, but its background white noise completely screened out the traffic noise, while being virtually unnoticeable. My husband and I could not believe how quiet it was with the air conditioning unit turned on low and needless to say we slept like babies. We also appreciated the extra toothpaste and other personal care items that Kelly provided in the bathroom, since I had left my toothpaste home in Portland. Although Kelly had spent the Saturday morning before our arrival in Corvallis at the farmers market, she took the time to give us a tour of their farming operation. We were especially interested in their hydroponic farming and enjoyed sampling a number of different lettuces. Although I got up at 7am the next morning, coffee was quickly provided. My husband and I were full from our dinner the night before, but the fresh peaches and blackberries from Kelly's garden and Kelly's homemade granola filled with walnuts from her garden and other treats were hard to resist. We both had seconds. Before we left, my husband purchased some living lettuces and basil and some lemon zucchini to take back to Portland with us.

Bob and Kelly recently purchased this home and are starting a produce farm and B&B. We would love to share our home and acreage with those who are looking for a place a little off the beaten path.

Kelly is a dental hygienist. Bob is a farmer!
