Description

Close to Portland and the Columbia River Gorge, two bedrooms and a spacious common area can comfortably sleep eight guests.
Spread out in the 1,800 sqft, private downstairs apartment in our home. It has a kitchenette (Ask about access to the full kitchen upstairs), you can shoot pool, watch TV, play games, use wifi and soak in the view! This is perfect for a family or group who enjoy hanging out together between adventures. We live upstairs but give you full privacy downstairs.

Two private bedrooms and a shared area with more sleeping options. Each room has a stunning view. You will share the full bath downstairs and a half bath upstairs when you book the whole space. Private rooms include a vanity for convenience. Our home is quiet and comfortable with a large lounging area decorated with historic photos and Coca Cola memorabilia. It has a pool table and kitchenette (sink, small fridge, coffee pot and microwave - no oven or stove top).
In summer many guests spill out on to the large front yard and enjoy the view.

You are welcome to come and go through our front door to make your way to your downstairs room. There is plenty of safe parking in front of the house. Our WiFi is free for your use!

We are happy to visit and offer you tips and recommendations on anything from where to eat to where to hike in the Gorge or play in Portland. We'll give you as much privacy or interaction as you'd like. We live right upstairs but are often out and about. If you forgot a necessity, you may find it in our stocked bathroom or simply ask!

We sit on 10 acres and our very private home is only visited regularly by deer and other wildlife. We are located about 5 minutes from Washougal and about 40 from downtown Portland. Minutes away from some great hikes in the Gorge. The Washougal Motocross Track is about 10 minutes away.

The Portland Airport is about 25 minutes away. No pubic transportation. Uber does work.

Washougal has great local restaurants, several breweries and beautiful local hikes, birding and walks with the Columbia and Washougal Rivers close by. There are always great deals to be found at the Pendleton Outlet Store.
We love games here, so in addition to the pool table we have a stock pile of board games and cards for your use. We also have a horseshoe pit and ping pong table - just ask! Speaking of horses, our quarter horse, Jake, would love you to visit him in the barn!

I love this rural life at the Gateway to the Columbia River Gorge with the close proximity to all of Portland's wacky culture, art, food and nightlife.
I've traveled many places but few compare to the beauty of the Pacific Northwest (however parts of New Zealand are close!) I always love coming home.
I work in marketing and PR and am a bit of a historian. I would love to share any local history you are interested in.
Since the kids are grown there are a few extra rooms around here and it is a pleasure to share the place with travelers exploring the area.
