This is a great location in the Faubourg St. John historic district of Mid City New Orleans. Walkabiltiy is excellent in the Faubourg, and it's a 10-minute drive to the French Quarter ... or you can walk to the Trolley line a few blocks away for a quick ride to the French Quarter.

Your apartment is an attachment to our primary home, but has its own entrance (totally separate from our house) and has has everything you need for a short or long visit. In the past, the apartment has been used as a permanent rental ... i.e., it is private / self-contained.

Below are some of the featues:
- Full Kitchen - incl. microwave, oven, coffee maker, plates/utensils/glassware, fridge/freezer w/ice maker. Save money by eating in. More importantly, save your leftovers from your fantastic meals when dining out!
- Washer and dryer in separate utility room.
- Two private bedrooms (one with a queen bed, one with a twin bed). Closet in queen room.
- There is a living (common) connected to the Kitchen with a TV.
- Your bathroom has a shower / air jet bathtub.
- Wireless internet access is available to all guests.
- You will have access to relax outdoors on the small patio in the backyard, or on the swing on the front porch. Note that the patio and front porch will be shared with your hosts.

Location:
- One house off Historic Bayou St. John.
- Walking distance to the Pitot House and boating on the Bayou
- Walking distance to Endymion Mardi Gras Parade
- Walking distance to historic graveyards
- Walking distance to Fair Grounds (Jazz Fest, Horse Racing, etc)
- Walking distance to Trolley and Bus lines
- Walking distance to City Park (incl. Museum of Art, Voodoo Fest, Sculpture Garden, Botanical Garden, Story Land, Hiking, Fishing, Boating, Picnics, etc)

We will interact with our guests to point them in the right direction. Otherwise, we fully respect their privacy.

Règlement intérieur
Non fumeur
Ne convient pas aux animaux
Pas de fête ni de soirée

Because the apartment has its own entrance, and does not share amenities with the main house, there are very few "house rules". We only ask that the apartment be treated as your own. Of course, having friends over to visit is perfectly acceptable .... just no wild parties :)

Very convenient to public transportation and grocery stores. Bayou St. John just a few steps away. Many good restaurants: Cafe Degas and Parkway for example.

We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful apartment on Bayou St. John. It was our home away from home and Shelly & Gray made us feel very welcome. The house is in an Amazing neighborhood and a stones throw from the Bayou Saint John. Sunsets over the bayou and all the comforts of home. The fridge was stocked with ALL the essentials. We didn't even have to "make groceries". We had a car and its the perfect spot to access any area of New Orleans. Uptown, Riverbend, French Quarter, Marigny, CBD are all a short drive or cab, or the Streetcar was easily available also. The Apartment has everything and the important things get an A+. Comfy Beds. check. Nice Hot shower. check. Super clean and tidy. check. Full kitchen, laundry, WiFi, TV. check, check, check. Love, Love, Love. Thanks guys. The coolest hosts ever! Can't wait to come back.

Gray & Shelley were perfect hosts, warm & welcoming, available when needed/invisible when not needed, friendly, generous & helpful. The kitchen was stocked with useful items but also great extras like Zapp's chip, fresh fruit, juice, bagels, pizza. The apartment was above my expectations, better than the photos. Spotlessly clean. Fantastic kitchen for an airbnb rental. Appliances are new & everything works. WiFi signal is strong. The backyard is great. It's all very thoughtfully arranged for a good stay. The location is superb, just off Bayou St John, near all the great food of Mid-City as well as near City Park & the Fairgrounds. This would be a great spot for Voodoo Fest, JazzFest, Endymion. My original plan was to stay there alone all month, but a couple of friends were able to visit New Orleans for a few days each. Gray was no fuss about the extra guest, and was fine when New Orleans pals stopped by for lunch or ice cream. One friend's luggage went on the wrong plane & Gray graciously received it around 6pm the next morning & ran it back to us know the rain when we got up. Parking was pretty easy. The neighborhood was safe. All in all, a great place & a great experience.

Gray and Shelly are terrific. They were very welcoming and helpful. When I arrived, the kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea, beer and wine, and a few groceries to get me started. The apartment is well-decorated, well-equipped, and comfortable. The bathroom is tiny, but gets the job done -- and includes a small jetted tub. I lived in New Orleans several years ago, so did not need much guidance on where to go or what to do -- but Gray and Shelly are up on all the latest. The apartment is in a great neighborhood with easy access to City Park, Mid-City restaurants, and is convenient for reaching other areas. If you plan to see a lot of the city, but the Canal Streetcar and other public transport is available nearby. I highly recommend this listing.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in Gray's apartment. The place is exactly as pictured. All appliances work well, the kitchen is large, and the bed is comfortable. The location is also great. Gray and Shelly were excellent hosts - they added a desk and table for us to give us more workspace, and even brought us some delicious food on New Year's day. We highly recommend staying here.

My wife and I have lived in New Orleans for over 15 years, originally from Arkansas and Mississippi, respectively. Our interests these days are primarily around playing and traveling with our two children, 2 and 4 years old. New Orleans is a great place to live and/or visit with children, offering plenty of outdoors and kid-friendly cultural experiences. For our guests, whether they be single, couples, friends, or families with children, we are interested in helping them enjoy their New Orleans experience. We love this City, and would like to help highlight some of the hidden spots for our guests. One of the most unique and enjoyable aspects of New Orleans is its "walkability". It is important, in our opinion, if you visit New Orleans to stay in a neighborhood that has this characteristic (stay away from the burbs). New Orleans proper has several unique, walkable neighborhoods that all offer great experiences. We live in an historical portion of Mid-City, along Bayou St. John, which is one of the first settlements in New Orleans. From our house, we point guests to walkable locations such as a stroll down Bayou St. John to City Park, where you can have beignets and coffee in the park, or lunch at the New Orleans Museum of Art ... or walk to the Fair Grounds to enjoy horse racing or the Jazz Festival, depending on the time of year ... or to a number of fine dining or casual restaurants ... or to the trolley line for a quick trip to the French Quarter ... or many other walkable spots. We truly want to share the New Orleans experience with our guests, while respecting their privacy.
