The market town of Bishop Auckland is only 2 miles away and is home to the Kynren Eleven Arches Spectacular, which runs from July to September and is certainly an experience never to forget. With a cast of a thousand volunteers, pyrotechnics, open air stage and a huge lake at its centre the scale of the show must be seen to be believed and will be great for guests of all ages.

Hamsterley Forest is only 7 miles away and is a delightful 2,000 hectare site of popular walking trails including the Gruffalo Trail, cycle trails and orienteering, as well as plenty of spots for the perfect picnic. The thriving market town of Barnard Castle is often popular with guests and hosts a weekly farmers market, some super local pubs, restaurants and shops, and is based only 13 miles away. Raby Castle can also be reached within a short drive and is a must see for guests who wish to catch a glimpse of over 200 deer which wander the grounds. The village of Staindrop is only 9 miles away and lies just next to Raby Castle.
