À propos de ce logement

This apartment is clean, spacious, private and ideally located. It is close to everything but in a beautifully landscaped, gated compound - a secret oasis! The unit is on the bottom floor of our private house, on two acres of gardens, woodlands and redwood groves. Walking distance to town center, 30 min from SF, 45 min from wine country, 5 min from hw 101. Surrounded by hiking and outdoorsy fun, plus shops, restaurants etc.

Le logement

The apartment comfortably sleeps 3, with a queen bedroom and a twin bed/ daybed in a nook off the living room. It has a full kitchen, dining area, nearby laundry room (around the corner also on the ground floor of the house), private entrance and its' own parking space. It is quiet and serene, with woodland views from every window. It has a small outdoor patio looking down over the woodlands, with seating area, cafe table and with a Weber grill.

Overall the space is simple, maybe a little dated, but spacious, clean, well-priced and in an incredible location. The bathroom (especially the shower) could use renovating but is clean and functional and reflected in the price.

Please note that this is a ground floor unit in a family home, so some muffled footstep and other noise from above should be expected. Please also note that the unit is down a longish flight of rather rustic steps, and somewhat far from the parking area down a commbination gravel/ paved path, so those with mobility issues should consider this before booking.

Accès des voyageurs

The Garden Apartment, its' outdoor area, one parking space and the path between. Guests may use the common lawn occasionally. To enter property gate, pull up close to the gate and it will open automatically.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

Owners live in the family home above, and will usually be present and easily available for questions and issues. We request that most communications be through text or phone for privacy reasons. Guests do a self-checkin anytime after 3pm.

Autres remarques

Guests should note that the apartment is at the bottom of a long flight of rather rough, rustic outdoor stairs, and somewhat far from the parking area down a part gravel/ part paved path. This isn't an issue for most folks, but those with limited mobility might not find this unit a match.

Please also note that this is a ground floor unit in a family home. As such guests should expect there to be some level of upstairs noise - footsteps, voices, etc. 99% of our guests are fine with this, but extremely noise-sensitive folks might not find this unit a match.

Guests are expected to sort garbage property. We'll provide instructions.

This unit is wonderfully secluded from other guests and neighbors. You will likely hear footsteps of the host family and their dog above as other reviewers note. You will enjoy this unit most if you travel light and, if possible, bring only one car. Street parking for a second car is not a realistic option during weekdays except after 10:00 PM and before 8:00 AM.

We loved everything about this place! It's accurate to the photographs (except for a few artwork changes!) make sure to take note of the steps to get down to the apartment. It rained our last few days and they got slick! Our favorite aspects were how safe it felt, it was relaxing to come home to each day. There are a few restaurants in her guidebook that are permanently closed but found our favorite restaurants in area to be "taco Janes" and "li David." The local grocery stores are expensive so we did most or shopping at the local CVS and safeway stores a few towns over. This is a super convient location if you're traveling to point Reyes, napa, Bay Area etc.

Lovely Kentfield garden apartment ...a great escape. It is a bit of a challenge to get to the apartment from parking place with luggage. down steps with minimal handrails and lighting. a bit noisy from the family upstairs. Great location and nice walk into town.

Super comfortable apartment with great beds, a secluded location yet close to restaurants and shopping, terrific kitchen with all the amenities (toaster, coffee maker, microwave) plenty of cups and plates and glasses .. friendly, available, helpful hosts .. we really can't say enough good things about this place .. we even had a deer visit, right up to the back door: Twice! A comfortable unit in a lovely setting. Spacious and well equipped kitchen. Full laundry room on premises, which we appreciated. Condition of the carpet (soiled/stained) and the shower surround (cracked) detracted from our enjoyment. Our host was very responsive to minor issues that arose but otherwise was absent (including at check-in), which would be a plus for some guests and a minus for others.

I am a native of Marin, and love everything about it! Hiking, beach barbecues on Muir Beach, Mountain Home Theater, burritos in the Mission, Fairfax Scoop, wine tasting in Napa... the list goes on and on.

I love Marin even more as I took a long detour from it. Our three children were born and raised in NYC, and I persuaded the family back here just last August of 2013. Quite the change, brownstone Brooklyn to nature-filled Marin! We love both but are so happy to have landed here.

I am an architect, an artist, and a stay-at-home Mom. I love yoga, hiking, hanging with the family, reading on the porch, and dinner with friends. Things I can't live without? I Love Lucy, girlfriend time, art, quiet, chocolate, my family. I'd love to see Morocco someday. I love independent films. My husband Sandy is a professional banjo player and teacher. We are a relaxed, creative family.
