We spent a lovely week here - it's a sweet old granite house fully updated with a wonderful veranda full of light, on a quiet road, very comfortable, modern kitchen (induction range), lots of outdoor space, large area for parking off-road. The house has three bedrooms, perfect for a family of 5, can sleep 6. Spotlessly clean and with everything you need.
Our hosts Benedicte and Christophe were delightful- greeted us with homemade cider- and even invited us to the beach where the kids all played together. Their cousin down the road gave us fresh green beans. They have a beautiful and friendly golden retriever who stays on his side of large property (and appears not to have ever lived in the house), and you can feed the tortoise. B&C are instantly responsive if there's an issue, very helpful.
The surroundings are great - very close to the sea, where you can walk along the coast for miles and it's a perfect place for kids to swim and play in tide pools. Lots of sea glass and shells, and you can dig up your own clams for dinner. At low tide it's possible to walk out to an island. Our hosts had left leaflets detailing walks through the local villages and we did several of those - very peaceful, through unpaved lanes with old hedges full of blackberries, and always something to discover hidden in a village, such as 1,000-yr old stone crosses. And there's the WWII beaches and museums very close by. Local seafood is outstanding.
If you don't speak French, don't worry, Benedicte knows some and the rest can be done with sign language. This is a little piece of heaven.
