A beautiful period home in a great area: close to the centre of town but even closer to all the buzzing cafes and bars of Stokes Croft and the fun of St. Werburghs. The house has Georgian charm, generous spaces and high-ceilings throughout.
The house has a great sense of space and light and lots of period character: vast georgian windows, exposed wooden floors, original fire-places and wood burning stove.
On the ground floor there's a large reception space with living area (big sofa) as well as some generous desks. Then there's a large kitchen / diner with solid oak units, fridge, oven and washing machine. There's french doors leading onto the garden - a sweet little south facing garden with rose bushes, lavender, raised beds, a couple of benches. Perfect for reading the papers with a cup of coffee! The bathroom has high-ceilings and a roll top bath. It is spacious and characterful, 'though I admit, as with lots of old houses it is a little damp.
Upstairs there's one particularly generous double room with views across Bristol. There are stripped pine floors and original fireplace. In the morning it is flooded with light (there is a black-out blind in case you want a lie-in).
There's another smaller double, again with original features and vast Georgian window looking onto the old Victorian school opposite. They're both good, comfortable beds but I wouldn't recommend this one for very tall people.
There's lovely bedding: good quality new feather pillows and duvets, cotton sheets. Good fluffy towels and, I think, everything you'll need and want for a really good and comfortable stay but please do ask for any special requirements and we'll see what we can do!
Accès des voyageurs
The house and front and rear gardens (as described - there is also a basement and storage room that are not accessible)
Échanges avec les voyageurs
We live just round the corner and love to meet guests and share any tips / answer questions etc
It is a no smoking house-hold.
No parties or events, it's a residential area with lovely neighbours!
Well-behaved pets might be allowed. Please enquire before booking!
Please put rubbish and recycling out when you leave, and if you're staying over on a Thursday night please put them out on the street for collection (I'll remind you)
Please also keep the shower curtain inside the bath when you take a shower so the water doesn't leak onto the floor! Many thanks :)
