****On August 1, 2016 Airbnb started collecting all hotel taxes due to the City of Los Angeles on behalf of hosts in my city. This agreement is for three the following statement does not apply at this time:
****This business is licensed by the City of Los Angeles, a 14% Los Angeles Hotel Tax (TOT) applicable on all stays of 29 days or less. I collect the tax when you arrive, this is because Airbnb does not collect taxes because each city has a different rate, making it complicated, doing it this way we also avoid transaction fees through Airbnb. I have a beautiful back garden with a gazebo for shade and a fountain that fills the yard with tranquility. There are several areas to sit in and relax as well as electrical outlets and WiFi so you can work out doors if you like...this is California!
I live here so I am usually here to answer your questions.
This is the La Brea District and it is filled with galleries, restaurants and boutiques. I have a rather extensive Guidebook that I suggest you look over for some of my recommendations and to get an idea of what is here in the neighborhood.
Mass Transit is available via bus and Metro or taxi and you can also use Lyft or Uber.
I expect my guests to respect the property and rules (see below).
I don't allow pets because I have two small dogs; Audrey and Bogie.
I allow smoking but only in the garden and I expect my guests to use the ashtrays provided.
Smoking outdoors only in the garden.
This is not exactly a child friendly environment. I have so many pretty, breakable things out and accessible that small people will find irresistible that you may not be able to relax, but if you are able to keep a close eye on your child(ren) then everything should be okay.

*** Please be mindful as you are visiting our Golden State that we are in a crisis drought, our reservoirs are 83% below normal and we have not had rain of any consequence in FIVE years. Please help us all get through what we hope is not a permanent situation and keep water flowing to our taps while we wait for the rain to return. To this end please keep your showers short (ten minutes or less), turn off the water as you are brushing your teeth, and fill the sink when you shave to save water. I thank you and I know Southern California thanks you.
I am an outgoing, creative person who is also a great hostess. I love meeting new people and find that to be the best part of being an AirBnB host.
I wrote the above introduction six years ago when I started hosting and it is still true today, I enjoy hosting immensely. But, what I did not know then, is that being a host is a life enriching experience because of all the great people who have come into my life since I took that early leap into the shared economy. I have learned a lot about my city that I share with my guests and I have made many wonderful friends. Maybe you will be the next one!
