Our house is clean, light, airy, warm, friendly and cosy. The guest room has two single beds.
Great location close to Central line, Portobello Road, Notting Hill Gate, Westfield and Holland Park.
Our guest room is most suitable for two friends or family members travelling together. It is also suitable for solo travellers.
We are in a great location just 4 minutes walk from an underground station. Our guest room has twin beds, a wardrobe, table and chair and bed side tables.
There is wifi access in the room. I provide towels, hair dryer, kettle, mugs and teabags in the room.
Accès des voyageurs
In addition to their private room, guests have access to our spacious family bathroom, separate toilet, kitchen, dining/living room and back garden. I have always lived in shared or family homes and am very comfortable sharing communal areas.
I do not provide breakfast. Guests are welcome to make breakfast in the kitchen or there are two cafes very close and many more an easy walk away.
There is a small supermarket within 100 meters which is open 7am-10pm every day and has everything you would need to buy to make breakfast and even has a Costa coffee machine.
There is dedicated space in the fridge for guests to store food.
Guests are welcome to use the living / dining room and back garden to eat breakfast / evening meals.
It is fine to come back to the house late at night. There are plenty of night buses which stop at Shepherds Bush and 24 hour underground trains to Shepherds Bush central line station on Fridays and Saturdays. I just ask that you keep noise to a minimum after midnight.

My housemate (John) and I will usually be staying in my house during a guest's stay.
We only have one guest room so you will be the only Airbnb guests staying in our home. Sometimes we have our own friends staying for one or two nights. If this happens they will be sharing our own private rooms and guests will still have full access to the shared parts of the house.
Check in is flexible. I work only 15 minutes walk away and can often arrange to work from home on the weekdays guests check-in. It is important you give me information at least 3 days in advance about the approximate time you expect to arrive so I can make sure you have a seamless check-in.
Your room will usually be ready by 3pm and often before though I am unable to guarantee this. Guests can leave cases in the hallway if it is not possible to access the guest room.
I leave for work before 9am Monday to Thursdays, am at home 1 or 2 weekday evenings each week and usually for a few hours during the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
I have found that some guests like to interact with me and some wish to be more private. I am comfortable with both and very much respect a guest's privacy. John speaks French, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese.
My house has three floors and the guest room is on the top floor. There are 26 stairs between the front door and the guest room so this listing is best for guests with small or medium luggage.
The shared bathroom and toilets (one in the bathroom and one in a room on its own) are on the floor below the guest room.
The price is for the room with two people staying. The price is the same whether one or two people are staying in the room.
Quiet and well behaved children 8 years and above are welcome.
John and I are vegetarian. I have separate pans for guests who wish to cook meat or fish during their stay. It is fine to heat anything in the microwave.
Please let me know if you would like to use the washing machine during your stay. For environmental reasons I do not have a dryer. This means that drying in cold, wet weather can be difficult. In warm weather you can dry washing on the washing line in the back garden. If you do 'little and often' washing it can be dried on the heated towel rail in the bathroom. If you want to do a big wash during cold or wet weather then it is easiest to take it to our local launderette (300 meters away) and ask for a service wash. They do not allow drying only.
We expect our guests to treat our house and family with respect.
I expect guests to tidy after themselves in the kitchen.
Please avoid cooking fish or meat which create strong smells as John and I are vegetarian and do not have the powerful extractor fan needed to remove strong smells.
At least one of the guests must be 18 years old or more. Children over the age of 8 are welcome.
No use of bleach, hair dye or other chemical products which could damage towels, bedding, carpets etc.
Please keep noise to a minimum after midnight.
Fun loving mother and grandmother. I love travel and in the last four years I have had month long trips to Sri Lanka, Colombia, Brazil and Malaysia. I also have made several shorter city breaks, travelling with my daughters to Rome, Bruges and Prague. My next big adventure will be travelling to Eastern Europe.
One of my favourite types of travel is in groups - I have done two trips with Intrepid tours, one to Morocco which included a night sleeping in the desert and the other to Sri Lanka which included two days trekking through tea plantations.
I moved into this house in 1990 and my children grew up here. They have moved out and our spare room is now the guest room. I enjoy travellers visiting my home and have recently moved all my travel books down into the living room which has sparked some interesting conversations.
I share the house with John who also loves travelling and speaks French, Italian and Portuguese.
I started hosting in June 2014 and have over 100 favourable reviews. One of my early guests was an architect who was fascinated by the architecture of this area. His enthusiasm was catching and as a result I have bought books of photographs of the local area and copies of maps from 1856 which are kept in the guest room.
My grandson is 12 years old and I enjoy having children to stay. I have had several children (over 8 years old) stay here.
I work 4 days a week as the finance and office manager for a local adult education charity based in Portobello Road which is 15 minutes walk away. I have worked for the charity for the last 10 years. We run classes in English, maths and computing for adults who need to improve their basic skills in order to either find work or progress to more satisfying and/or better paid work. We also help people write their CVs, complete application forms and help prepare them for job interviews. Some people enjoy studying so much that they go on to university. Many others become volunteers and support others in the way they were supported. I love my job and all the people I work with - I work with a particularly dedicated group of people and we are always working with limited resources. The service we offer has helped thousands of people improve their lives since it started in 1983.
I can live without a lot of things but one thing I can't live with is a television. As a result there are no television sets in the house.
I run a relaxed and cheerful house though I need my sleep and expect visitors to make minimal noise after midnight. I try to live my life to the full.
