Stay on a family farm in the village of Suvas, Rajasthan, on the beautiful Eastern side of Ranthambore National Park. Bablu, Seema, and their family have farmed here for many years, and are excited to share their local culture and knowledge with guests. Set underneath the ancient Khandar Fort amidst fields of cucumber, guava, and countless other seasonal crops, Bablu's homestay offers guests a comfortable spot to explore a fascinating and little-traveled area and learn about another way of life.

Le logement
Bablu and Seema's homestay is a simple village home. There are two attractive rooms available (rented separately), each with two beds and space for clothing. There is a rooftop with expansive views of Khandar Fort as well as into the Aravalli hills of Ranthambore Park. Guests, as well as Bablu's family, eat and socialize outside on an expansive porch, which looks out onto the family's fields.

Accès des voyageurs
Bablu, Seema, and their family work on the farm most days, and will be available to show you their crops or lead you on a village walk. In addition, Bablu can arrange a tour guide and driver to show you farther afield sites around Khandar for an additional cost.

Autres remarques
Pricing includes lodging, food, and a village walk through Bablu and Seema's village.
For an additional cost, we can arrange transport to and from Sawai Madhopur Railway Station, as well as day tours further afield in the area.

While we are close to Ranthambore National Park, this is not the place to stay for guests who are only visiting the area to go on a tiger safari. Rather, visitors who want to understand the Ranthambore area on a cultural level will find Bablu's home the perfect place to stay.

Goth Bihari, Rajasthan, Inde

Within a short drive from Bablu's house is the Khandar Fort, a spectacular and little visited legacy of Rajasthan's competing kingdoms, and the Chambal sanctuary, home to hundreds of crocodiles and other wildlife. The area is also home to a number of villages that were displaced from within Ranthambore National Park when the park was created. An hour and a half drive from the tourist hub of Sawai Madhopur, villagers here still live close to the land, practicing traditional lifestyles that are rarely experienced by outsiders. While Ranthambore offers the chance to spot tigers, villagers here have had personal experiences with tigers that they are eager to share with guests. This is but one example of how staying in Khandar will give you a deeper knowledge of the Ranthambore area.

Pendant votre séjour
Bablu and his family are eager to show you around their farm, their village, and the Khandar area. They speak little English, but you will receive a Hindi-English phrasebook to make communication easier. Additionally, you will be put in contact over Whatsapp with a local who does speak English. That person will be available to answer questions and assist with translation when necessary.
