Our comfortable, furnished basement apartment is in a quiet family neighbourhood, midway between downtown Guelph (15 min. walk) and the University (10 min.). It's a great alternative to a more expensive hotel suite for a short-term rental.
Short-to-medium term rental available. Beautifully finished basement apartment/suite located near the University of Guelph on Forest Hill Dr. There is a good-sized bedroom and new bathroom. There is also a kitchen/living area, stocked with dishes, cutlery, utensils and all the conveniences of home. The open concept living room has a couch, dining table and chairs. It is clean, bright, warm and comfortable.

This is an affordable alternative to hotel accommodation if you're visiting Guelph for a short period. Why be in a non-descript hotel building without anything to make your meals with? Instead, you can stay in a quiet neighbourhood, 15 min. walk from downtown and 10 min. walk from the University.

Guests have exclusive access to the 400 square foot basement apartment through their own private entrance. They have no access to our home. In warmer weather, they are welcome to share use of the back yard, deck and outdoor barbecue with us, in consultation.

We greet and orient our guests. Beyond that, there is no interaction required, although ongoing communication about needs and expectations is expected and offered, either in person or by email / text.
There is on road parking during the spring, summer and fall. We are willing to juggle cars on our driveway during the winter months.
We are attempting to keep this a scent free location. This means the cleaning products and laundry soap are provided by us because we request scent free. This also means please do not use any scents indoors as the homeowner has strong reactions (headaches etc. to all scents).
Sort waste into “blue” (recyclable paper, glass, plastic, cardboard, aluminum), “green” (compostables, including vegetable and meat waste, plus kleenex), and “clear” (everything else).
Waste disposal is Monday night, leave garbage outside on the landing and I’ll combine it with our garbage.
Driveway parking in consultation with owners. Street parking with notification to owners.
• no smoking or pets in the apartment
• please remove muddy or wet shoes outside the apartment, on the drip tray
• you have your own separate entrance and doorbell, which rings in the basement only
• no loud noise, especially after 11 pm
As a host: we're a couple, renting out our renovated basement apartment on short-term basis.
As a guest: I like out-of-the-ordinary (i.e. not hotels!), funky places. Don't need a lot of space, just comfortable and clean digs in a handy location so I can get out and explore.
