Enjoy the serenity, views, stars and wild west wine country charm of Oakdale Ranches 32 acres. Nestled in the oak trees on the top of a hill you can relax into your own private retreat. This guest house is for those seeking independence with a Bed & Breakfast feel. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway or memorable vacation with a friend. Maybe you will choose snuggle up in our spa robes to enjoy a complementary bottle of wine on the porch, take in the scenery and stars or take a walk around the property for sunset, either way this location will completely tailor itself to your vacation style.
There is a kitchenette, with a mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave, electric skillet, Gas BBQ on porch, pot's pans, glasses, cutlery and basic spices for your convenience.
There is a main house on the property that is a year round residence. It is set away from the cabin so you will have privacy. We also have a very friendly ranch dogs!
Our check in time and check out times are generally very flexible unless we have a same day guest checking in our out. If that is the case we will let you know and check in will be around 3:00 and check out by 12:00.

Historic 1886 Saloon. Just steps away from the cabin is the original historic Templeton Saloon built in 1886. We call it the “The 86 Saloon”. Guests are welcome to bring in drinks and play bartender or a game of poker. You can get a little crazy with no need to worry about driving home… just don’t get 86'ed :) The saloon is very rustic, and is not a traditional modern day structure, so please adjust your expectations accordingly! Think more like a ghost town structure that has a newer bar and table inside (see pictures)
You are also welcome to hike around the property, there are some great spots down the hill behind the cabin for picnics, etc.

You may see my father around the ranch or driving down the driveway. We do our best to give you space while staying with us. Although, my father lives at the main house, I live in SLO and manage the cabin. If there are items that need our attention during your stay, please contact me so that I can make sure you have a comfortable stay! We have extra's of most items.
BED TAX: We hold a vacation rental license with the city, so 11% bed tax (yeah, it's high!) is included in our nightly rate.
We are on a well and have hard mineral water, so the tap water is not so tasty, it also can leave a slight film on things. We are also on a septic system, so you may only flush toilet paper. Thank You.
There are two ranch dogs. Lulu and Wally. They are very friendly and will probably come and visit you.
Reserving/confirming a room means you are accepting the below terms.
2 night minimum stay is required.
Maximum guest house occupancy is limited to 2 persons unless otherwise authorized by owner.
For the security and privacy of all, access to the property is limited to registered guests only unless otherwise authorized by owner.
Cancellations must be received within 14 days of reserved stay or you may be charged the full rate of your stay.
Should you depart earlier than your confirmed stay you will still be charged for those days.
No shows will be charged for the reservation without refund.
Credit card is required to reserve your stay. You give Oakdale Ranch authorization to charge your card in case of cancellation. Your card will be charged for your stay prior to your arrival.
No smoking inside the guest house. Due to the dry natural environment and fire safety outdoor smoking is limited to the guest house porch with the front door closed and paved driveway area. Cigarettes must be extinguished and thrown in the trash. If no guest objects, smoking is permitted in the saloon and must be extinguished in the provided ashtray.
Daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. However is available at an additional rate for extended 3 day plus lessee’s.
We value privacy. Do not disturb the main house occupants or enter the surrounding main house or barn premises without prior approval from the owner. Should you need immediate assistance, please call (phone number hidden).
Quiet time, although not specified as the distance is far from the main house. Please be considerate after dark. Loud music travels in open spaces!
Fires. No outdoor fires in fire pits or lighting of the Saloon stove permitted without prior approval by Ranch.
Pets. No pets are permitted without prior approval by Ranch.
Driving. The Guest house sits at the top of a half mile paved winding private driveway. Please drive slowly and carefully as there are deer, other wild animals as well as ranch pets. Lessee and guests enter the driveway at their own risk and agree to drive responsibly, take curves slowly and drive no more than 25 mph. Lessee agrees to hold the Oakdale Ranch and it’s owner, managers and representatives harmless from any and all liability, claims that may arise from use of the driveway.
Lessee acknowledges that the Oakdale Ranch has is in a natural environment and contains rocks, poison oak, trees, wild animals, dogs, cats,steps, decks, porches, stairs, etc. and enters the premises at their own risk. Lesee agrees to be held liable for actions of his/her guests whether they be registered or unregistered guests at all times and by doing so holds harmless The Oakdale Ranch, its owners, managers and representatives from any and all claims arising from their guests use of the property. In addition lessee holds the above mentioned harmless from any and all liability, negligence on the part of either party, loss, damage, injury or death resulting from the use of the property and its fixtures and contents. The lessee agrees to not file any claim, action or lawsuit against The Oakdale Ranch and it’s owners or representatives for costs or damages arising from lessee’s and lessee’s registered guests use of the property. Lessee agrees to inform all registered guests of these terms and that any unregistered guest will be considered as trespassers of the Oakdale Ranch.
