Our comfortable bunkhouse is ideal for couples, or can sleep three at a push. The house is in a quiet residential area in the hills above the lively coastal village of Ullapool. Come for stunning views, and easy access to hill-walking routes. You will enjoy cosy seclusion, while being walking distance from the pubs, shops and music in Ullapool. This is a homely flat, and environmentally aware. Please don't expect furnishings to be brand new or matching.

Le logement
We've been letting this flat for three years now and have had consistently positive reviews. The scenery really bowls guests over, but they also like returning to warmth and comfort after a blustery day on the hills. The bunkhouse is on the lower level of our house, with its own entrance.

The south facing sun porch has windows on three sides and provides a scenic space in which to eat, relax, and enjoy the views. The main room has a comfortable double bed, two-seater sofa, and bookshelf. There is not a TV. The kitchenette is tiny but well-equipped with fridge, sink, mini oven/hob/grill, microwave, toaster, kettle and cookware. So while you may not be able to cook grande cuisine, it's perfectly adequate for making breakfast and simple suppers, and storing your food for picnic lunches. The spacious bathroom has a full size bath with shower and grabrail. A smaller room at the back of the flat is useful for your luggage and clothes, with shelves and a hanging rail, and a fold out chair/bed which can be used for a third guest or if you are not a couple.

There is a decked seating area just outside the apartment, which is reserved for your personal use. You are also welcome to explore the terraced garden, where you may be lucky enough to see a red squirrel. A burn runs down the garden towards the loch.

We can store bikes and wet gear in the large dry workshop next to the flat which is also the workshop for our local electrician. The driveway has space for parking, but little room for turning, so you need to either reverse in or reverse out. Parking is also available on the road if you prefer.

We are a few minutes from the village centre by car, or around 30 minutes to walk. The location is ideal for hill-walkers, with tracks leading to Ullapool Hill and views of the Summer Isles just a few steps from the end of the road.

The apartment is well insulated with double glazing, central heating and electric heaters. Absolutely no smoking please, even in the garden. Free Wi-Fi is available, but may not always be reliable or fast.

Où se situe le logement

Highland, Écosse, Royaume-Uni

Ullapool is a picturesque fishing village in North-west Scotland, situated on the shores of Loch Broom. Despite a population of only around 1500, the village is full of amenities, being the main hub for a vast area and on the route to the Western Isles. There are plenty of pubs, eateries and shops, a small supermarket, a petrol station, a museum, a theatre and an excellent public swimming pool.

Ullapool has a growing reputation as a centre for music and the arts, with various festivals throughout the season. From Easter to mid-October the village is vibrant with live music in the pubs most nights, great seafood, boat trips, and a colourful Saturday market. Winter is much quieter, and opening hours may need to be checked. Winter highlights are the clear starry nights, snow on the mountains, blustery winds and the beautiful late dawns. The village boasts some impressive lights through December, including the famous Creel Tree on West Shore Street.

The Ullapool area is a fantastic place to base yourself for your holiday, with easy access to Wester Ross, Coigach, Assynt and the Western Isles. It is an excellent area for walking, climbing, cycling, kayaking, sailing, fishing, birdwatching, beaches, geology ... or just sitting on a pub terrace watching boats on the water.
