À propos de ce logement
Bright, cheery master bedroom with queen bed on 1st floor of attractive frame home, nestled on wooded & rocky mountainside, minutes from downtown Coeur d'Alene. Home overlooks the Spokane River with views of the Bitterroot & Selkirk Mountains.
The Master-Guest suite is a spacious room with a queen bed and attached, private bathroom that has a tub/shower combination. Our home is located on 13 undeveloped acres, perched on the side of Blossom Mountain with 360 degree views of mountains, trees, and the Spokane River. We are an animal habitat and crossing site, so it is common to see deer, the occasional elk or moose, our resident yellow-bellied marmot, and countless songbirds, hummingbirds, and quail. The animals are gracious about allowing us to share their space!
Accès des voyageurs
Guests will have access to the living, dining, kitchen and study/TV areas of the home, all 3 porches, and anywhere they want to wander on the property. The guest bedrooms are on the first floor.

While we live here, our bedroom and bathroom are upstairs and away from the rest of the home. We will accommodate the needs and wishes of our guests for their desired level of privacy or interaction with us. The house key opens both the front and back doors. The front door opens to the living/kitchen area. The back door opens to the "mud room" and connects directly with the hallway to the master suite bedroom. Guests wanting more privacy can enter and exit through the back door. We are both very social and happy to spend time with you as you wish. It is your holiday and we want it to be special!
Our home is 6.5 miles (or 15 minutes) from downtown Coeur d'Alene. Therefore, we have easy access to shopping, restaurants, parks, recreation areas. To us, we have the best of both worlds -- the beauty and quiet of living on the side of a mountain, with "civilization" and all of its amenities only a few minutes away.
Coeur d'Alene has a free public transit service. So, once in town, this is an option. We have maps, brochures for recreational activities and historic sites to visit, recommendations for restaurants, suggestions for day trips. We will do our best to provide whatever information you need depending upon your interests.
We have a second bedroom with double bed and private bathroom available for those guests who are traveling with others in their party. This bedroom is listed as "Cozy retreat" through Airbnb and is directly across the hall from the Master-Guest Bedroom. We block this room for use along with the Master-Guest room so you will need to ask us to unblock it in order to book it. The private bathroom for this smaller bedroom is just a few steps down the hall from the two bedrooms.
1. We want you to know that we have an Old English Sheepdog named Matilda, in the event that you are allergic to dogs. She is not allowed on the beds nor furniture. She is not allowed to beg for food or treats. However, she will be in the house in case this is a problem for you. She is well-mannered but will assume that you want to give her some of your attention. She is a diva.
2. We do not allow eating in the bedroom, with the exception of a small snack or if required for medical reasons. We are happy to clear a space in our refrigerator or freezer for your personal food items and you may use either our dining table or the tables on the two porches if you prefer to eat here rather than to eat out. We do not let our guests cook in the kitchen but you can feel free to bring prepared food in -- we are also happy to let our guests use the microwave. We provide a basic breakfast and do our best to accommodate your food preferences or allergies.
3. We want you to enjoy your stay so we encourage you to ask directly if you need something or have a question. You are a welcome guest in our home and we expect that you will help us make your stay safe, pleasurable, and comfortable.

Kristen is a university/healthcare administrator and Bruce spent 25 years in medical and IT capital sales. Kristen is also a yoga/pilates instructor and Bruce is a culinary-trained pastry chef specializing in "sweet and savory" European-style creations. After years living and working in Houston, TX, we looked for the perfect "retirement" home for us -- small town atmosphere, close to nature, 4 distinct seasons, beautiful views and beautiful people. Our property outside of Coeur d'Alene gives us the privacy and beauty that we desired while being close to the creature comforts of a small city. We share our home with our Old English Sheepdog, Matilda. We like to snow shoe, bike, work outside on our property, and sit out on 1 of our 3 porches with coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Bruce loves to cook and has started a bakery business in a separate building on the property. We are happy to share our home, property, and lifestyle with you!
