My house is set in the heart of picturesque Hathersage, it is ideal for people who love the countryside whether it's for walking, climbing, cycling, running or a simple escape from the hectic city.
It is a traditional terraced cottage in the centre of Hathersage, that was once part of the pin and needles industry.
The village of Hathersage is nestled below rolling moorland and the three mile long gritstone escarpment of Stanage Edge, my local pub is the Little John and the village is associated with the legendary medieval outlaw that ran with Robin Hood.
The village is also lucky enough to have a heated outdoor swimming pool which is open from Spring to Autumn.
The house has two rooms available for renting so there may be other guests staying; the loft room is a good size, suitable for a couple, has a double bed with good storage, the back room is smaller, so suitable just for one (please see other listing) has a double bed and good storage. There is a shared bathroom on the ground floor. I keep my home clean and welcoming, however it is a used and lived in house so there will be lumps and bumps. You are welcome to help yourself to tea/coffee and to use the kitchen however you need to provide your own food e.g. breakfast. The living room has a log burner and logs can be bought from the centre of the village which is only a couple of minutes away. I have a decent garden which provides a good place to lie out in the sun on summers days and it's close to a farm (Thorpe Farm) that sells locally made ice cream.
We are easily accessed by train, bus or car with excellent off street parking. Sheffield and Manchester within easy reach.
I can recommend good climbing areas and numerous walks and runs in the region or point you in the direction of the local pubs, tea shops, a couple of small supermarkets and Indian restaurants. There is also a fruit and veg shop and a good butchers nearby.
I hope you enjoy your stay.

I'm a keen climber and runner who has been living in the village for the last 14 years. I split my time between managing a business in London and escaping home for a deep lung full of fresh air in my favourite Peak District.
