At a stone's throw from San Telmo's antiques market and Plaza Dorrego square, this recently refurbished belle-époque flat on the first floor of a two-story house comprises three bedrooms, living, huge gallery/sitting lounge (with lots of greenery), bathroom, kitchen and patio. Around the corner is Universidad del Cine, also close are Universidad de Buenos Aires' Faculty of Engineering and Universidad Católica Argentina. Subway access via Independencia station is within walking distance and there are good bus connections to downtown, Palermo and Belgrano. The flat is ideal for couples, families or flatshares and sleeps up to four people.

WiFi, towels & bedsheets provided. Washing machine available.

This is our family apartment we use when in Argentina. We have a trusted housekeeping lady who looks after the place when we're away and is on hand for welcoming you as well as for cleaning and washing services.

San Telmo is Buenos Aires' historic colonial district, just south of Plaza de Mayo. In recent years it has become quite trendy, so there's no want of restaurants, bars, boutiques, bookshops and design stores apart from the area's traditional antiques merchants. Several of the city's most famous milongas (tango places) are in the area. Being a tourist area, it is also very safe.

Several bus lines get you north to Palermo and Belgrano as well as south to scenic La Boca. The Subte (Underground) Línea C is at Independencia, connecting you to the city's tube network.

I teach Latin American Studies at University of Zurich, Switzerland, as well as regularly at universities in Argentina and Brazil. Interests: literature, politics, film, visual arts, architecture - and football, of course. Having lived in East London for a long time, I still support Arsenal (desperately though).
