Description

Enter the energy of the Sun into this golden Tipi to connect to the Earth and Nature. Charge your personal batteries by sleeping close to Mother Earth in this natural energetic pyramid.

Experience being in Nature and sleeping close to Mother Earth to regenerate your body and your soul. Newest edition to the River Song Sancturary and Retreat on almost one acre and only 100 steps away to the boat dock. Gated with a 6ft privacy fence around the property and open on the back side to the river and the meadow. This cozy space has a beautiful fully functioning fire pit in the center with a full size futon mattress that folds up for your couch. Outside you will find the private bathroom and hot water shower along with your outdoor kitchen and sink. The boat dock on the Deschutes river is only 100 steps away.
A new addition to the Tipi is a small sink with running water and a small water feature to make you feel like your camped next to a mountain stream.

Guests will have access to mountain bikes, cruisers, kayaks, canoe, rafts and a sweat in the sweat lodge ( by appointment)!

We live on the land, when we are home, it's great to meet our guests!

Quiet and peaceful, not a lot of traffic mostly just squirrels, deer, elk, bunnies, birds, and ducks.

The Sunriver resort is just two miles away with a nice grocery store, restaurant/bar's, shops and breweries. You can float from the Tipi to the marina in Sunriver in three hours.

This Tipi is on an acre lot along with a large home that rents as one unit or broke down into four. The house use to be a Bed and breakfast and now it is a retreat and sanctuary for those who need to recharge and connect with nature. The Tipi is about 150 feet from the house and feels private from the house. We are in the process of putting up a cob and juniper privacy fence, right now there still is a privacy fence made of straw and bamboo.

There wasn't anyone there to greet us upon arrival, but Lori communicated everything well in advance by email. The Tipi is as advertised, and it might not be for everyone. It is not as private as you might think--it is in the corner of the property close to the road. But it is somewhat secluded by landscape and we didn't have any problems with it. It is what we were expecting based on other reviews. Some people might not be comfortable with the toilet and shower situation, but it is a teepee, not a 5 star hotel. We had a lot of fun staying there, and it was definitely a unique experience!

Lori was nice to talk to, however the Tipi was not reflected well on her page. First, you really shouldn't stay there if there is rain at all in your forecast. It will be cold and damp. The outdoor toilet is that, no top cover and a compost toilet. I was a little shocked when I drove up because where the tipi is on her land is like a construction zone. It was really disappointing, especially for the steep cost to "camp." Lucky for me I brought a camp light and extra blankets. I think spending 100 dollars to stay in this tipi is very steep, especially since it is not a glamping experience~ You sleep on the floor with mats to which only one set of sheets was provided. I was very disappointed and we left early. I'm all for camping, but when I am prepared for it.

The weather was a little rainy this weekend, but there are several ways to stay warm. There is a fire pit inside the Tipi and one outside. The Tipi is surrounded by a privacy fence at this time it is made out of juniper and strawbale with some 6ft bamboo fencing on the ends. We are in the process up making an artistic fence out of Pumice which Oregon has a lot of! We are excited about working with this green material. It is in a pile outside the privacy fence surrounding the Tipi along with a small cement mixer, that are out of view when you first pull up. We work on it in between people staying. I am a sculptress so this is a labor of love and will be a work of art when it is finished. Inside the Tipi area ( which is quite spacious) there is no evidence of it being in a construction zone. There is beautiful native grasses and landscaping with lots of flowers around a small waterfall and also a fire pit, seating for four under an umbrella. The kitchen also has a roof over it. There are plenty of ways to warm up if you need to. When it rains we close up the top Tipi flaps, this is the way that Sara found it. The flaps can be opened so you can have a fire. It's so magical to stay here in this atmosphere. The Tipi is also elevated off the earth about four inches with a floor made out of cement pavers it and has a thick carpet pad with berber carpet on top of that. There is one main bed. It's a thick futon queen size mattress. There are always clean cozy flannel sheets provided for this bed. There are also two large wool blankets, one down blanket and a couple smaller blankets. When someone lets me know that they are going to need two sleeping area's, I am happy to provide extra sheets for the fold down thick single bed. Sara never let me know that she would need extra bedding. There is a large lantern in the kitchen that can be moved into the Tipi for extra lighting along with small lights attached to the inside of the Tipi. There is several outdoor solar lights to add to the magic of the Tipi. It is always helpful if you bring your own headlamp or flashlight as you would when you are camping outside. There is a door on the front of the Tipi that can be tied tightly shut to keep squirles etc. out. Sorry Sara that you weren't prepared to be outside in the Tipi when there was weather in the forcast, we talked about that before you came. Happy Trails.

We had a really wonderful time staying in the Tipi over Labor Day weekend. It got MUCH colder than we had anticipated that weekend (below freezing), but the fire and the blankets Lori provided kept us pretty toasty. We did have a problem with the pilot light in the outdoor shower going out whenever there was a breeze, which happened a lot our first morning there, so that made for some quick, water-temperature-fluctuating showers. But all in all, we had a really great time and would definitely return!

The tipi was perfect for a weekend get-away. The space was clean and had everything we needed. Actually better than advertised! We didn't realize there was a cooking area, second fire pit, and outdoor sitting area included as well! The land was peaceful and quiet. A great and unique experience perfect for relaxation. Thanks Lori!

We had a great experience staying in the Tipi. Something we will talk about for years! All our needs were met with bedding provided, plus everything we needed to stay warm in the tipi, fire-pit, kitchen, shower and toilet outside. We were even able to use the canoe to do some fishing on the river, which was so quiet and peaceful. Thanks Lori for a great weekend!

Great experience, had everything we needed. Water, outdoor kitchenette, fireplace outside and in the tipi, all in a nice little enclosed area of the property. The tipi was fun, and the float down the river was awesome.
