A good house which we used while visiting family in Stanley. Very clean house in quiet location with the basics you needed for a stay, including DVDs/games/books for the children. Good sized kitchen diner and living room areas. Great communication prior to the stay, even though Melanie was on holiday herself. We visited The Stables pub/restaurant which was part of Best Western at Beamish Hall, which had an outside playground for the children to play and a short drive from house. Good value for money, have recommended to others already!

It was a last minute booking due to a change of plans with my 7 year old son, but it couldn't have gone smoother. Melanie's communication was spot on, and she was very accommodating to our requests. The cottage itself is located in a quiet area just outside Stanley, perfectly situated for exploring the north east and right on the door step of Beamish open air museum which makes a fantastic day out, but it was too cold and wet this time round. The cottage is well furnished, very cosy, we even made use of the log burning stove. Well equipped, there's was everything you could possibly need, and the free wifi was very much appreciated especially by my son We both really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we need somewhere again in the area.

Cozy is an understatement! Add to that, welcoming neighbors, proximity to Newcastle, and an ASDA within a mile, there wasn't much else I needed. It was also a VERY safe neighborhood. The inside of the residence was clean and inviting, fresh towels, bedding, etc. For a pet friendly residence, there was NO animal smell or damage--a big thumbs up! Melanie was VERY communicative from the beginning which made our trip all the more enjoyable. If you're ever in the Newcastle area and need a place to lay for the month, week, or the night, this is one residence you do not want to pass up.

Lovely cottage with all the amenities we could ask for, less than a mile to a large supermarket and if you don't drive there are regular buses. Newcastle, MetroCentre and Durham are all within 20/30 mins by car.

My star sign is Sagittarius and we love to travel and explore. If we can't travel, we love looking at maps. I think my ideal job would be a travel agent. My friends always ask my advice when planning holidays and I usually make a lot the arrangements for them. I am from Newcastle and we are a friendly and welcoming bunch and this is how I hope you would describe me if you came to stay.
