I would like to start by saying Anita was nice, but I do NOT suggest this Airbnb for a long-term rental. I feel that even though I paid half of the rent, I had absolutely no voice. I found my experience stressful, she is very particular. I did not have my own personal space, a…

To understand this bad review, I suggest going to Libby's page and reading my full review. She has been an Airbnb renter twice and has 2 bad reviews, while this is the only bad review I have had in over 1.5 years of hosting and having many long-term renters. And to you, Libby, you have to see that the issue is YOU, not the hosts. Yep, we hosts have "particular" (Website hidden by Airbnb) called basic decency, maturity, and hygiene. Libby, your review just further displays your immaturity and lack of knowledge of how Airbnb works. Actually, Airbnb DID pay out the $400 in my favor, after the pictures I presented of the futon you ruined, along with the text exchanges that I sent to them of me asking time and time again to have you please use the bed sheets I provided and you coming up with excuses as to why you couldn't. The only reason you were NOT charged is because I didn't have a security deposit required then and so they legally couldn't charge you. Still, Airbnb felt that you did indeed ruin the futon and sent me a check. I did not give you hell for using my address but it was in the house manual from the get go and you continued to send mail to my address. If you had a problem with any of the house rules, you should have not stayed here. The only reason you are complaining now is because I sent you a request to pay for damages that you made during your stay. I guess you didn't see the large shoe rack hanging in the closet, but then again, since you left the room such a mess and had clothes and shoes everywhere, you probably wouldn't have. :/ And you are right...this is my home and I have a right to go into any room I need to. I store things in the extra room and would vacuum/wipe down the room as much as I could and yes, it is my duty and right to make sure the room is being taken care of as well. When I would see that you kept sleeping on the bed with no sheets and the manner in which you kept the room, I would cringe. I did consider asking you to leave much, much earlier, but Airbnb encouraged me to stick it out, which is the only reason I did. I feel bad that you couldn't get along well with either of your hosts, but again, I think that should provide some food for thought on how you can improve as a guest, though I doubt you will ever take personal responsibility for any of your behaviors. I wonder at what point you will consider growing up and treating others' homes/belongings with respect. I wish you well and am just thankful our time together is over. And yes, if there was a guest who was like you in terms of lack of manners/lack of common decency, you are right, my home is not the place for them. I have adored all my other guests and would welcome any one of them back with open arms. Sadly, I cannot say the same here. Hopefully, you are just my one bad experience.
