A Real *Glamping* Experience !

This school bus turned private getaway is a unique nest in the heart of Atlanta! The bus has a single bed, desk, loveseat, and a whole lot of character. It is adjacent to the main house where you have access to full kitchen, bathroom, and lounge.

Le logement

**There is no a/c- it will be hot during summer months but the windows do come down and the back door opens to create a good flow.

**Please note: We heat the bus and common areas with as many space heaters as our delicate circuit breakers can withstand, the house hallways can be very drafty. This is why we keep our prices low in the winter. Please keep this in mind when booking or reviewing the property. Thanks!**

The school bus is located at the front of our gated property. There is electricity but no water on the bus. The common areas in the main house are open to any guests staying in the bus and bathrooms are inside of the house as well.

The main house was originally built in 1919 as a refuge for travelers. It has since lived many lives, including that of a house of charity and most recently as an artists' collective. The Art House still features events in the Back House Theater, including plays, musical performances, open mic nights, and monthly improv comedy shows. Guests of Art House are encouraged to attend these shows and support local Atlanta artists!

Accès des voyageurs

Guests of Art House on Ponce have access to yoga studio/ballroom with balcony overlooking the Midtown skyline, bathroom, patio and gardens, many shared living spaces and a well-equipped communal kitchen with all the tools you need to make great food!

Échanges avec les voyageurs

Our home operates as a safe space for marginalized identities. We ask our guests to be respectful and mindful of of the residents and other guests during their stay.

Autres remarques

PLEASE NOTE: We keep our prices low in the winter, because our rooms our heated via space heaters. It is low in the summer too for lack of a/c.

**BURRR** Be sure to pack your warmer jammies (sleep wear) because nights get pretty cold here!

The bus was dreamy, all what I expected, stylish and campy. Everyone I interacted with from the main house was sweet and welcoming. I'd stay here again if ever in Atlanta again.

There's no running water inside the bus, and security involves a lot of the honor system, and if you're cool with that, this place is rad & cozy & convenient & unique & great.

This is such a fun little spot! Easy enough to get to and from, as you please from all over Atlanta, and a unique place for a weekend getaway for example. It was a bit of roughing it, but at the same time really nice, so it didn't feel like "actual" roughing it camping or anything. The house it is near is a bit messy and the bathroom upkeep was a bit low, and ran out of TP lol, but it is a community of artists, so that was semi-expected. Other than than, clean towel was given, and really liked the set up of the bus, very private, and the amazing trees and chickens running around! The lock for the bus was good, and the main gate pad lock was easy enough, once you figured it out. I really appreciate the stay and def recommend it to anyone not looking for a standard hotel or normal "spare room" experience, and to feel a bit vagabond, if only for a week or so lol :) thank you!

This place is trash and unkept... I think more like a modern-day hippie commune than ART... Just be aware this is a rough camp and there are holes everywhere in the bus and lots of mosquitos.... I stayed in the rental car the first night and did not return on the second... This place has possibilities. but the management is not taking it seriously... the gate has a big old padlock on it... people still coming and going at 3:00 am...

Had a brief stay at Art++House. Definitely a bus, although think school bus instead of VW bus or the like. Still, a good place to spend a night, close to restaurants and about a mile from the train station to the airport.

This property is a wooded oasis in the middle of Atlanta! The house is a century old; because of its age and size, it's a step off the beaten path... and then some! We are seven local artists / siblings that run the place cooperatively together - in addition to the Airbnb, we also host music, visual art, educational, and film events on the main floor & in the small theater area behind the house. When you stay here, you will have an experience that is atypical of the sterile hotel experience. Plus, you will be supporting the arts community in Atlanta! While most people are enchanted with the atmosphere at the Art House on Ponce, restoration is an ongoing process so we ask guests to please keep this in mind while booking. It's a down-to-earth magical mansion from another dimension sprouting in the heart of midtown Atlanta. We thank all of our guests for their support, without them this dream could not exist!

ATTENTION WINTER-TIME GUESTS!
****ALL GUESTS ARE REQUIRED TO READ & AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING NOTE BEFORE WE WILL APPROVE THEIR RESERVATION****
>>>>Before booking, please note:

As long as you are aware of and prepared for a "GLAMPING" (glamorous-camping) type of experience during your stay with us, (our space is WITHOUT HEAT , so we provide lots of warm blankets and a space heater) we'd be glad to host y'all :-)
If you have never camped outside in winter, nor ever wanted to, please do not request to stay at the Art House; you WILL NOT enjoy yourself and WILL NOT get a refund, sorry but we are giving you plenty of warning here.

Thank you again,
Art House on Ponce

P.S. It might also be a good idea to keep an eye on Atlanta weather for the dates of your trip! <<<<
