The Mothership is unique among B&Bs because it is also an art gallery. As a guest you may share the space with an art show (if you like). Paul has a long history of mounting shows and his own work was shown in the Metropolitan in the Pictures Generation show of 2009. Creativity is the key to happiness and well-being. Tibetan buddhists regard it as equivalent to spirituality and it has been having a long run in Woodstock. The oldest continually running art colony in the country, Woodstock was also an epicenter of the 60s peace, love and rock'n'roll utopian vision. In the 80s Woodstock was once again of seminal importance in the rise of the New Age movement; Native American, Buddhist, Hindu and wiccan. It is still home to significant parts of the Rainbow Family, an important organization of the Hippie persuasion. The Mothership is all about creativity. Art supplies available on request.

Wifi, full kitchen and bath with tub, a/c and heat, exclusive use of the front porch, ample parking and for exceptional things like trailers parking can usually be made available across the street. Walking distance to town, swimming holes, soccer fields, galleries, shops, restaurants and music clubs. You can park your car here and spend the entire time on foot.

Paul lives upstairs and will greet you when you arrive, show you around, how things work and answer any questions you may have. He is usually home but if he is away he will be reachable by text and phone and there will be a knowledgeable substitute on site to handle anything that might come up.
How much interaction there is will be largely up to the guest. Many things are possible.

Woodstock is so full of artists Paul once tried an experiment, which was to go door to door and see how many artists there were and ask each to submit a piece. He was able to fill the gallery with one piece from each of twenty something artists living within a small radius of a block or two from the Mothership.
The town forest with its trails along the stream through the woods is a short walk away, near the soccer fields and town offices. The library is also only a couple of blocks away and there are many activities there, including some for children. At night three music venues and several excellent restaurants are within walking distance. That's the neighborhood, and there is also a healthy population of wildlife.

There is a local taxi service and reliable inexpensive bus service to Kingston, which is the local city. In addition there is a wonderful bike shop called the Old Spokes Home where one can rent bicycles for cheap.

It is possible to use the Mothership as a production or rehearsal facility. In its recent history as an "Everything Center" the room has hosted many fine musical shows and has an excellent sound for remote recording. The whole band could live and record in the same space. A film crew recently stayed here while doing location shots around town. Paul also encourages curators to organize art shows here.

L'entrée dans les lieux se fait après 14:00

I expect guests to be respectful of the art and objects in the space and of the neighbors. Not too much noise late at night. No hard and fast rules beyond reasonableness.
