A comfortable sunlit room with a full-size bed and a big window that offers a beautiful view of Upper Manhattan. Located in an elevator building, literally steps from the subway, it allows you to easily move all around the city and come back at any time, without safety concerns. Join us in Washington Heights: one of the most spacious, affordable and liveliest neighborhoods of Manhattan!

The room is spacious, sunlit, and extra comfortable. It is fully furnished, boasts a large closet, and offers a nice view of the neighborhood. You are certainly going to love it!

The place has high-speed wireless internet, an exceptionally well-lit living room, a nicely renovated bathroom, and a full kitchen with all the amenities... all of which, of course, you are free to use.

You'll have a/c during the summer (if you want it or need it) and heating during the winter; and, during fall and spring, the multicolored leaves and the flowers of NYC's, blooming just outside your window!

Our apartment is located in an elevator building, literally steps away from the subway. As it is located next to Broadway, there are several restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets and convenience stores nearby.

The neighborhood is quite pleasant, lively, and safe: a great option to actually stay in Manhattan without paying the infamous Manhattan prices, or settling for gloomy rooms that would be considered closet space anywhere else.

If you are into sports or jogging, Planet Fitness is across the street and Riverbank State Park is just a stone thrown away ---the largest of its kind in the western hemisphere, it allows you to enjoy an olympic-size swimming pool; skating ring; tennis and basketball courts; soccer field; running track and so on. Furthermore, Riverside Park is just a few blocks away,  which allows you to enjoy lots of green areas; what is considered the most beautiful waterfront in the city; and a biking/jogging path that runs along the Hudson River, from one tip to the other of Manhattan.

Guests will receive a set of keys (one set per room) for accessing the building and the apartment. They are free to return at any time they want, we just ask them to be careful with noise.

Ours is an "international" apartment, so we are happy to receive people from all over the world--I am a native Spanish speaker, in case you feel more comfortable speaking in Spanish.

The person who stays in the room will usually be sharing the apartment with me and two other roommates/guests--there is a lot of traveling going on here. We are friendly, open minded, and try to remain drama-free. We foster an environment of respect and friendliness. We enjoy meeting new people and sharing with them our knowledge of the city and its "best kept secrets". And, whenever possible, we like to grab a drink or bite with our guests.

Washington Heights is one of the livelier neighborhoods of New Your City, with a clear latin flavor to it. It is absolutely safe and conveniently connected to the rest of the city through public transportation.

For these reasons, it has become a favorite place for those looking for larger and nicer spaces, sprawling green areas, a smaller distance to the Hudson waterfront, and friendlier environments, without having to renounce the comforts of living in Manhattan. It offers lower prices and a better value per square than the rest of the island. More so, it is nested between Columbia University, Harlem, and The Columbia - Presbyterian Medical center. It has attracted a lively community of artists, professionals, and students, who mingle with the older residents and give the area a unique flavor.

With the 1 line literally at your doorstep; the A, B, C, and D trains just a few blocks away; and a variety of busses on Broadway, you can quickly move all around the city and get to most of the major landmarks and venues within minutes. Columbia Presbyterian Hospital is at walking distance, Columbia University is a ten minutes ride away, and you could get to Central Park, Lincoln Center, the Yankee Stadium, the Theater District, or Times Square in less than half an hour.

If you are interested, we can give you suggestions about where to go and what to do to have a wonderful vacation, without spending much money. Come to New York and stay at our place, we would love to have you!

Note that reservations will not be accepted without some kind of preliminary contact with me. Please, send me a message and wait for a response before making any bookings. I will be pleased to answer promptly, and, hopefully, being able to meet you in person soon!

Please note that if you want or need the AC , this would be installed from June 21, the first day of summer and can remain in use until late August.

Règlement intérieur
L'entrée dans les lieux se fait après 13:00

Most generally, the rules are commonsense, respect, and conviviality. More specifically:

1.Generally, the only people allowed inside the apartment is the guest (s) registered in the reservation. No visits are allowed without our explicit approval...
2.We have wood floors that get easily scratched. Please, do not drag the furniture and do not roll suitcases with wheels ( lift them instead).
3.We don´t use shoes inside the house at all to make the cleaning of the floor easier. There is space for you to leave a pair in the shoe rack by the entrance. Also, please note we don´t use home-shoes inside the bathroom --leave them outside the door when using it.
4.You are free to use the kitchen, as long as you follow the guidelines established on the "kitchen etiquette" list. Please, pay careful attention to the garbage separation instructions.
5.You are free to use the common areas to rest or read. We just ask you to keep them clean and bring your things back to the room.
6.Please, be mindful of others when you make use of the bathroom and clean after yourself. Pay special attention to the "bathroom etiquette".
11. No smoking is allowed inside the apartment.

1. Please, keep the room in good shape, as you found it. You are responsible for cleaning your own space and taking down your personal trash.
2.This room includes a one-time cleaning fee for preparing the space before your arrival. In the case of long term stays (28 nights or more), you are required to cover the fee every month as a contribution for the cleaning of the common areas.
2. Please, do not eat in the room (remember, we are in New York and we don´t want to get unpleasant four-legged visitors). If you want to have a meal or a snack, use the common areas!
3. Please, be careful of not placing hot or cold recipients directly on top of the furniture in order to avoid leaving marks on it. Use coasters instead.
4. Do not move the furniture of place without consulting with us first.
5.Please, take care of our things as you would like someone else to take care of yours. If anything breaks or gets damaged by accident, talk to us about it so we can figure out a solution. Do not wait until we find out by ourselves.

Quite reasonable, isn't it?

-You´ll be provided with a set of clean bed sheets. In the case of long term staysm we ask you to please wash them before your departure.
-You will be provided with one towel per guest ( same as with bed sheets in the case of long-term stays).
-We provide toilet paper and hand sop. All other toiletries run on your own.
-We do not provide any meals.

I am a graduate student, traveler, madman, and seeker from Ciudad de México; but also, as several others, an enthusiastic adoptive son of New York City. I like visiting new places and meeting interesting people--hence, my love for anthropology and my interest in airbnb. I enjoy reading science fiction, playing chess, having beers with friends, jogging, and, most generally, exploring. I am intellectually, musically, and gastronomically omnivorous. And you?

I will be delighted to meet you in person. Hope to hear from you soon!
