Description

2 BDR, 2 Ba. Country Cabin / Highway 227 by Shady Cove Or. on 700+ feet of Trail Creek front! 2 queen bedrooms +queen sleep sofa and single roll out bed. Woodland views, big Hot Tub, pool to October and infrared fireplace! Yes we have AC and central heat. Dogs welcome. 5 Min. to Rogue River fishing, 1 hr to Crater Lake National Park.

You will love this beautiful 2 bedroom (+queen sleep sofa), two bath country cabin just off hwy 227 on over 700 feet of trail creek front!
The master bedroom has a huge pine log queen bed, charming antique library table writing area, lounge sofa and it's own lovely pine bathroom with a soaking tub.
The oak bedroom is charming and colorful with a big queen pine sleigh bed and oak leaf decor.
For additional guests the big red sofa in the living room folds out to become a queen size bed.
I recently finished the mantel for the infrared fireplace in the living room - which makes it oh so cozy and romantic!
The kitchen is fully functional, bright and pleasant. It has an oven, microwave and jennaire cook top stove with a grill. A big coffee pot and coffee presses for two and four are on hand as well as a nice counter top pancake grill and a waffle iron. There is a small electric grill outside the backdoor as well as big propane grill by the shop. The large fire pit, at the far end of the yard makes a great gathering place for visiting and cooking marshmellows and such.
You will love the BIG deep star view Cal Spa HOT TUB. Stretch out and turn on the jets or share the view with a friend or two or five... It's located in the oak grove, just across the drive way and behind the shop. Follow the solar lights and take the flash light - hanging next to the front door.
I highly recommend the seasonal 'pool' in the creek for a quick cool down - about 150 steps from the front porch. (May - early August and Late September - October) Take one of the big soft bath sheets with you! Between November and April - it may look more like a river than a creek...
The entire cabin from the handcrafted shutters to the plentiful art is beautiful and comfortable. We have central air and heat as well as a very realistic infrared fire place for the charm and romance factor... and the creek and grounds are truly awesome! I love a creek like a 7 year old does and this one is super fun! It has a very wide smooth slate rock base with deep channels and pools. In the winter and spring it looks like a river but it dwindles with the warmer weather and you can walk right out on it and play between the deeper flows - until it almost stops completely in late August to return with the first September rains...nice and full now in April and every thing is green and gold again! Enjoy lots of cool reptiles, water lizards, turtles, crayfish, frogs and small fish...
Elsewhere on the grounds you will spot deer, turkeys, rabbits and such. Right now a pair of wild geese are nesting right across the creek from the pump house.
Kids and dogs love it here!
We have hundreds of feet of historic rock walls, oak and pine groves interspersed with maples, mountain ash, manzanita, madrone, cedar and mountain scenery. The spring and fall colors are breathtaking!
This is an optimal base location for hunting, fishing, rafting, hiking or cross country skiing.
You will be 10 minutes from Shady Cove, Oregon and five minutes from the Rogue River.
Take a Hike to Mills Creek Falls just east of Lost Creek Lake with just a 20 min drive through some of the prettiest country you will ever see!
In 1 hour you can be at a play at the Ashland Shakespeare Festival a Jacksonville Britt Festival show, an Umpqua waterfall hotspring or incomparable Crater Lake!
You may however like it right here so well you will just stay put and relax.
Dozens of varieties of wild flowers grow right here on the grounds along the creek and trails and in the meadow.
Coffee, creamer, microwave popcorn and a large selection of herbal and traditional teas are included.
Check in 3PM and check e on down - everyone will love it here.

Guests will have the cabin and immediate grounds / yard all to them selves. You may have to share the creek and trails with me, my husband and a friend or two but no one will intrude on your space or privacy. We all may use the hot tub which is located in the oak grove, behind the shop.

We give guests all the room and privacy they would like. Just give us a call if you need something or have a question.
I will be happy to give you a guided tour upon request.
We may be staying in the studio cabin out behind the pump house.

My favorite thing about the neighborhood is - there is none - we are in the country. One neighbor has 5 acres, one has 30 acres and one has 20 acres. Nice people.

This is well outside the public transportation area.

Check - in is after 3 PM, unless other wise arranged. Check out is by 12 Noon. Bring clothing for hiking and water shoes or boots and bathing suits for the creek and hot tub (or not).

Diane was a wonderful host. The place was ideal if you are looking for a quiet get away. The hot tub is great; you can start a fire; there is a picturesque stream behind the house. The house itself is spacious, clean, with 2 comfortable bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and pretty much anything you might need for a weekend. We used it as a base from which to visit Crater Lake NP, which was a bit less than 1 hour away. The nearby town had groceries, and a few quaint restaurants.

Quite, secluded cabin next to a babbling creek. It was a comfortable stay for our family of 4 and small pup. Plenty of outdoor space to run around and explore. Diane was a great host, we checked in with her, she told us about the house and then let us be. Some pantry items like spices and condiments were available for us. Stocked with all sorts of kitchen utensils, such as plates, bowls and mugs. Garden tub and outdoor hot tub were a plus! We enjoyed our 2 nights!

Our family loved the location and set up of Diane's home. The huge yard running down to the creek was gorgeous and Moodle, her dog, so friendly!!! We loved the hot tub and used it often. It is a great location if you want to visit Crater Lake about an hour away. The kitchen has modern appliances and is really well stocked with basics like spices, coffee, tea etc. Would've loved to have stayed longer and will certainly recommend it and go back again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Diane's rental for four days. We originally had plans to go on nearby hikes as well as National Parks located within an hour drive. However, the house offered relaxing views of nature and, after living in an apartment complex in the suburbs, we felt that soaking up the views was much more needed. This rental is perfectly equipped to enjoy nature. The large windows offer views of the creek right outside as well as a tree backdrop. The covered front porch is the perfect place to enjoy coffee during rainy mornings and the chairs near the creek offers the perfect location to enjoy the creek during sunshine. There is even a short trail that follows the creek. I expected there would only be a limited amount of items in the house, but I was surprised to find that there was Tupperware, spices, sugar, flour, coffee, and plenty of options for tea. Diane was eager to extend a helping hand, but also went to great lengths to respect our privacy. I was excited when I found out that we could let our dogs off the leash; however, our one dog doesn't listen well and does not understand the meaning of a highway, so we kept him on the leash most of the time. Our experience was very enjoyable and I found that the house met all of our expectations.

This cabin was a little piece of heaven! My husband, four kids, and I stayed here the weekend before my birthday and wasn't disappointed in the least ( we have had some bad Airbnb experiences before). Diane was the perfect hostess and was very helpful in fulfilling every need that I had. We will definitely be returning!

Alan and Diane bought this beautiful property in 2014. We very much wanted a quiet in the woods place where we could enjoy nature with water nearby.
We looked and looked - and found this absolutely charming place with 700+ feet of creek front! Then we made it 'ours' with hand stenciled pine floors and extensive pine wood work. We papered, painted and hand crafted pine shutters. We just love it here and we are sharing it with you.
Diane is working at building a 2000 step walking meditation labyrinth else where on the property and is turning a vintage Cabin Cruiser into a mini Cabin. It's all fun!

Alan, Diane on Buck Rock in August 2014. The cabin is in the valley about two miles behind us. We love to hike and work in our shop building projects.

Our new dog is a two year old named Moodle ( she came with that name). She is the size and color (black and white) of a Holstein COW and is very smart (Poodle brain). That must be why someone named her Moodle... ya think? We rescue and train a dog at a time (or two).
