We try to meet all guests on arrival, however if we are unable to guests gain access via a key-pad lockbox which contains the keys. We live a few miles away so if there are any problems we're normally close at hand to assist
We'd be thrilled to assist you with booking local activities and providing suggestions for these - please just ask, we'd really love to help you plan your trip! When you arrive at the apartment you'll find a library of local maps, guidebooks and brochures to help you plan your time.
Absolutely no smoking in the apartment or communal hallways please. Although we love pets this property is unfortunately not suitable for them.
We ask that guests treat the property with the respect and care which they would their own home. Please leave the apartment clean and tidy when you leave (i.e. no dirty dishes, rubbish/trash removed).
However, the main house rule is HAVE FUN AND ENJOY YOURSELVES!
I now live in the BVI which is a long, long way from Berwick upon Tweed (and I'll be honest the weather in the Caribbean is a lot warmer!). Berwickshire is the area in which I grew up and I love it; it's a really, really special place and largely undiscovered by mass tourism. My parents, Christine and John Ward, still live locally and they help me manage Old Templars Cottage along with their other holiday cottages.
We bought Old Templars Cottage in 2014 so that we have a place to stay when we come back to visit; we hope you enjoy staying there as much as we do.
I love to travel and think the AirBnB concept is great: I hope to explore some of the other listings myself.
Feel free to contact me with any queries you have, I'll be happy to help you!
