Mill Wharf is a luxury one-bedroom apartment in an award-winning granary conversion. It is a feature property with beautiful views across the Tweedmouth harbour . Beautifully furnished and with elevator access you're just footsteps from the water

Mill Wharf is an award-winning modern conversion of an old sandstone granary; it oozes character and the development has successfully managed to retain the glorious features of the property whilst incorporating all the luxuries of modern living.

The apartment is on the third floor with lift/elevator access and is tastefully finished with beautiful oak floors. Free WiFi is provided so you can keep connected during your vacation.

The living area is decorated in contemporary style and has a wall mounted flat screen with freeview/basic cable and Blu-ray/DVD/CD player.

The galley style kitchen is fully equipped and has all that you would expect - fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, iron, and washer/dryer. A small chest freezer is also provided. The oak theme is carried through to the worktops and many items of furniture.

The dining area has a designer table, director chairs, china crockery and fine glassware. Throughout the flat you will notice original artwork, antique posters and photographs by local artists.

The bedroom has a double bed with the option of duvet or blankets and the linen is organic, Egyptian Cotton. A flat screen TV with freeview, is wall mounted for comfortable viewing and radio listening

The shower room has a spacious walk-in shower area, with an inset radio so that you can sing in the shower! Note the wooden counter top and marble basin with lever taps. Hand made soap, made for Border Holiday Homes, is provided by Purity Soaps of Berwick.

A complimentary seasonal Welcome Basket is waiting for you and includes locally sourced produce such as local honey and handmade chocolate and home-made jam (made by my Mum). Milk, tea, ground coffee, sugar and free range eggs are also provided

Guests enjoy private and exclusive use of the apartment. The property is a dedicated vacation apartment and has been furnished with the needs of discerning travellers in mind

We try to meet all guests on arrival, however if we are unable to guests gain access via a key-pad lockbox which contains the keys. We live a few miles away so if there are any problems we're normally close at hand to assist

Absolutely no smoking in the apartment or communal hallways please. Although we love pets this property is unfortunately not suitable for them.

We ask that guests treat the property with the respect and care which they would their own home. Please leave the apartment clean and tidy when you leave (i.e. no dirty dishes, rubbish/trash removed).
However, the main house rule is HAVE FUN AND ENJOY YOURSELVES!

Fabulous apartment with great views. A perfect base to explore the area.

The apartment is beautifully situated right on the harbour. It is well equipped (you can do 'proper' cooking) and furnished. The hosts were charming and extremely welcoming and there was a starter pack of milk, tea, eggs, porridge and preserves. The Spar is within trivial walking distance and an M&S food hall is two minutes away by car. We had a great time here. The only thing preventing a 'fantastic' rating is the bed could have been a little more comfortable for us.

Everything went super smoothly. The booking was confirmed quickly before directions and access instructions were sent by email. I didn't get to meet the host due to a Friday evening arrival when they had pans but they called to check if I had any questions regarding access. The apartment is perfect, all the space and kit you need for a short stay in complete comfort without any unnecessary complications. We took some of the hosts recommendations for evening entertainment before having a great nights sleep. Watching the sunrise over the water from the apartment windows on Saturday morning was a sight to behold before going for a run along the river. This was followed by coffee and scones from the café only a few minutes away, saving the fresh eggs in our welcome basket for the following day. Check out was just as simple as arrival and the system employed would allow you to retrace your steps if you left something behind. Berwick and Tweedmouth are a great find and this accommodation will be first on our list when we return.

Spent the weekend here and it was everything we could have asked for. Excellent location and a fantastically set up apartment. Access was easy and everything was ready to go. If you want to explore the surrounding area then this is where you need to stay. Comms were prompt and extremely helpful before, during and after our stay. You needn't worry about anything with this host.

I now live in the BVI which is a long, long way from Berwick upon Tweed (and I'll be honest the weather in the Caribbean is a lot warmer!). Berwickshire is the area in which I grew up and I love it; it's a really, really special place and largely undiscovered by mass tourism. My parents, Christine and John Ward, still live locally and they help me manage Old Templars Cottage along with their other holiday cottages.

We bought Old Templars Cottage in 2014 so that we have a place to stay when we come back to visit; we hope you enjoy staying there as much as we do.

I love to travel and think the AirBnB concept is great: I hope to explore some of the other listings myself.
