We have a spare double room available in our converted Watermill, self catering. We are a working farm.

The spare room is large and comfortable with a private en-suite shower room. A kettle, microwave, small fridge and basic crockery and cutlery.

Our place is homely, a bit dated but very comfortable and we are all friendly, so do come and have a home from home type break.

72hr buffer between guests to reduce Covid-19 threat.

Le logement
We have a lovely, double aspect bedroom with a private en-suite shower room. This room can accommodate 2 people in the double bed.

We are set in the heart of South Devon with easy access to the beaches, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Salcome and Totnes. We have a working farm and lots of land for you to explore including a fishing lake. Close to good pubs and walks (driving).

Available on a self-catering basis.

We welcome well behaved dogs at an additional charge of £5 per night. Pre-arrangement necessary.

On the farm we have resident hens. At different times of the year we will have cows, sheep, calves, lambs and pigs. Happy to show you the animals and we sell home grown bacon, sausages, beef and lamb, jams and preserves from the farm. I can cook you some meat up if it fits in with my dinner plans.

We hope to offer an affordable and relaxing stay in this beautiful but sometimes expensive area in our clean and tidy home. We are situated in the countryside but we are close to the main road for great access.

We want you to relax and feel at home when you come to stay, we are laid back and enjoy welcoming people into our home.

The room is closed for 72hrs after each guest and I will wear full PPE when cleaning so you can rest assured that our room is as safe as we can make it with the new Covid-19 risks. My cleaning products all meet standards to kill Covid-19.

Please wear face mask and gloves when in communal hallways, we have family members who are shielding so need to take proper precautions welcoming people into our home.

PLEASE NOTE: we will be doing building work to the outside of the house throughout 2020. This will not affect your stay but the outside will not be as pretty as the pictures. We have adjusted our prices accordingly.

Accès des voyageurs
You will have access to a private double room with en-suite shower room only.

Accessed through a communal hall and stairway. We would require guests to wear a mask and sanitise their hands or wear gloves at all times when in the communal hallway.

Autres remarques
Food and drink is not provided.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at an additional £5 per night each. Prior Arrangement necessary. Please be aware that we can not have un-castrated male dogs to stay. Your dog is more than welcome, we love dogs but please be aware that we are a working farm with free-range hens and ducks, and sheep and cattle on the farm. As such we ask that you keep your dog on the lead around the house, farm yard and livestock and he would need to be up to date with his wormer if you would like to walk around the farm. (dogs can carry a nasty worm that is bad for sheep).

Arrival by 9pm and we ask that guests are in the house by 10pm, we are up early every day. Late arrivals disturb the baby, dogs, us and our lodgers. No days off for farmers.

Our home is homely, I would put shabby before chic but it is clean, warm and comfortable. A relaxed environment, living with working people in the beautiful South Devon countryside but close to the A381.

This is what 'Visit South Devon' has to say about our beautiful South Hams:

South Hams Scenery
If we say ‘The South Hams’ to you, would you know where we mean? If not, then a visit to this part of South Devon will make sure the name sticks in your mind for years to come. The South Hams is a region of rural and coastal Devon in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. To the north the South Hams stretch to the edges of Dartmoor National Park, while to the south it covers one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline the UK from Torbay to Plymouth. With a strong rural and maritime heritage the South Hams is noted for is quality local food, culture, and scenic landscape.

History
The South Hams has a long history stretching back to Anglo Saxon times, when the area was feudal estate. Many of the villages were centred around the production of wool since medieval times, and the local ports thrived on the export of local products. The strategic position of many coastal towns has meant that the Royal Navy has been a dominant presence throughout the centuries and still plays a major role in the economy and character of the region today.

Things to do

Totnes
If you love the outdoors, you’ll love The South Hams. It’s a wonderful outdoor environment, with rivers, moor land, coasts and the sea offering visitors a range of activities including canoeing, walking and sailing. Heritage fans will love local attractions such as Totnes Castle and The South Devon Railway and a range of arts and food festivals keeps culture-vultures happy throughout the year. For the nautically inclined the coast has a big tradition of sailing regattas and arts events.

Food and drink
The West Country is one of the most important producers of food and drink in the UK, noted for its quality and traditional methods. Here you’ll be treated to some of the best fine dining using locally made produce. For seafood, towns such as Dartmouth and Salcombe boast award-winning restaurants, while inland gastro pubs serve excellent home cooked fare.

Something a little different

Buckfast Abbey
If you fancy a serene and tranquil day out, Buckfast Abbey is a welcoming and interesting monastery to explore. There are exhibitions and historical tours around the grounds, with one of the most treasured gardens in the West Country providing peace and tranquillity for the monks and visitors alike.

Hello We are Jade and Oliver. We live in Devon and are farmers. Our family has been farming locally for 2 generations now and we have just expanded into our own farm. Farming is fabulous and we love our cattle and sheep but as diversity to the farm business we are offering B&B. We are passionate about animal welfare and growing fantastic quality food. We are also deeply in love with Devon and love to share this piece of Heaven on earth with guests. We are laid back and would love to welcome you to share our home and farm with us. Please respect this place and help us to look after the environment. Come and stay with us and live simply but luxuriously enveloped in Devon's wonderful nature. We are also managing Jade's mum's villa in the South of France. It is stunning and now we are on the farm we don't get out there enough. Please do contact us with any questions and we will answer them or ask Mum for you.

We work very hard and have a 2yr old. Farming is 24/7 so please be ready to be self-reliant and responsible for yourselves. We are at the end of a telephone if not in the house.

We do try to be around most evenings and mornings when guests are here but we can't always be depending on the animals and our day jobs.
