Description

This charming double sleeps two comfortably and is in a stylish Edwardian tenement flat in Glasgow's Hyndland - a prime location in the west end. The flat has traditional features and is perfectly situated for access to the bars, restaurants, shops, museums and galleries of the west end and city centre.

The flat was built around 1905 and is typical of the Edwardian period with fireplaces, decorative cornices, high ceilings, sash and case windows and well-proportioned rooms. It has been sympathetically furnished but has all the modern conveniences you would expect, including central heating, permanent hot water, cable television (in living room and kitchen) and wireless internet.
A very sociable cat lives at the property so this space would not be suitable for someone who is allergic to cats or dislikes animals.

Guests will have a private bedroom. They will have access to the bathroom, dining kitchen and living room, all of which are shared with the owner.

I live at the property so will be around for some of the time. When not interacting with guests, the cat comes and goes as he pleases through his cat flaps.

Hyndland is a beautiful Edwardian neighbourhood and a conservation area. The streets are lined with handsome four-storey red sandstone buildings. The flat is in a quiet, residential area but is within walking distance of a host of bars, restaurants and shops in the west end. Glasgow's Botanic Gardens can be reached on foot in less than 20 minutes.

Hyndland Railway Station is five minutes' walk from the flat and there are frequent trains to the city centre (9 minute journey). There are also direct trains from Hyndland to Edinburgh (travel time 1 hour 20 minutes).
Parking on the street is free but there can be competition for spaces after around 18:00. If you need to hire a car, there are City Car Club vehicles parked at either end of the street.
You can hire a bicycle through the nextbike Glasgow scheme. The nearest nextbike station is less than a mile away at Partick Interchange.

The property is on the first floor of the building. There is no lift.

On weekdays, check in is usually after 17:00 but at the weekends there can be more flexibility.

Règlement intérieur

This is a no smoking flat. As this is a tenement building, there is an understanding that you respect others living in the adjacent flats and keep noise to a minimum at night time.

Janine est une personnes d'une gentillesse absolue, elle m'a été d'une grande aide à mon arrivée ici. L'appartement est très bien décoré, très propre et situé à deux pas des transports en communs. Je le recommande à toute personne devant séjourner à Glasgow!

Staying with Janine was a real pleasure. She made us more welcome than I thought possible and her warmth and friendliness added so much to our Glasgow trip. It is a spotless, very spacious, beautiful flat in a great area. We had everything we needed and nothing was too much trouble. Janine is a really engaging person who has taken the term host to a whole new level! Thank you Janine.

It was an absolute delight to stay in Janine's immaculate home, we are a couple traveling for business purposes to the University and the location was excellent. It was a comfortable and restful place to stay for two nights with a tasty breakfast and Janine was able to accommodate our slightly hectic schedule and it was a pleasure to meet and talk to Janine and of course Milo too.

This was our third stay in Janine's flat, and we had a fantastic time! Janine is always so warm and friendly, and goes to great lengths to make us feel at home. This is by far the best Airbnb experience we've had.

I really enjoyed a short life in Glasgow and Janine's home. She really made me comfortable. When I confused the way to her home and I asked, she answered promptly. She was interested in me and my mom, so I was pleasant when talking to her. House is so tidy and clean and breakfast is so delicious! I can say with confidence that she is really nice host! I hope she is always happy and spends time delightfully with many guests! Thank you :)

I have lived in Glasgow for over 25 years (I am originally from Liverpool) and am hugely fond of the city. I've been made terrifically welcome here and I will do the same for my guests. I would be delighted to tell you the smartest places to eat and drink and give you an insider view of the very best the city has to offer.

I work in marine energy policy and my interests include photography, cycling, art, design, cinema, sewing (that's a recent one but I'm hooked), music and reading.

I have worked abroad for short periods in France, Italy, Switzerland, Israel and the USA.
