About 80 kms from Palermo, Santa Margherita di Belìce is situated on hills cultivated with vineyards and wheat. Its center is Piazza Matteotti where visitors can see the Filangeri Cutò palace, the original palace dating back to 1700s and the adjacent Mother Church. Santa Margherita di Belìce is famous for its typical local products the most important of which are the prickly pears that have beneficial properties, wine, boasting labels and brands that are highly regarded in Italy and around the world and the original "vastedda" of the Belìce Valley, a cheese product that has an intense and genuine flavour.
