À propos de ce logement
This private bedroom is sunny, quiet and has a closet. Although the queen size bed is technically a leather pull-out sofa, it has a Posturepedic mattress and is extremely comfortable. Added to this are the fine quality linens, down pillows and down duvet for your use. This room fits two people easily.
You'll also have your own private full bathroom for your exclusive use. Additionally, you are also welcome to use the kitchen and lounge.
We have two very curious and social kittens named Stella (the older) and Neil who will be pleased to welcome you to the apartment.
This is an extremely safe 24-hour doorman building, and the apartment has its own keyed elevator entrance. Your bedroom and bathroom also lock from the inside only.
You will have your own keys, so you can come and go as you please. We are available to answer questions and help however possible, but the apartment is large, so we won't be in your way.
You will have access to the kitchen as well as to the washer and dryer.
We have lived in Manhattan for a long time and love the city. We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Our aim is to ensure you have a wonderful time here on your trip and hopefully some of our love for this city will rub off on you as well.
Hamilton Heights is a quiet neighborhood of tree-lined streets and striking brownstones, home to plenty of families and students, as well as to the Dance Theater of Harlem, the Society of Arts and Letters, and the historic landmark Hamilton Grange.
Our favorite neighborhood businesses include the Chipped Cup coffeehouse, Hand Pulled Noodle and Harlem Public, a New York Magazine Critic's Pick. There are also restaurants, grocery stores and pharmacies nearby.
We are steps away from beautiful Riverside Park, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, where you can walk or bike along the Hudson while enjoying spectacular views of the George Washington Bridge.
Also nearby is Riverbank Park, with its huge swimming pool, track and athletic facilities.
We have always felt safe in this neighborhood anytime of day or night. 145th St. Station is a popular stop, so you will never be alone walking along Broadway.
We are conveniently located 3 minutes walk from the 1 train, and 10 minutes from the A, B, C, and D trains. Via the subway, it takes 17 minutes to get to Columbus Circle, and 20 minutes to Times Square.
City College is a 10 minute walk, and Columbia University is an easy 10 minute subway ride away.
There is free, on-street parking on our street and nearby on Riverside Drive. It is usually easy to find parking within 5 minutes walk of the apartment, though depending on the day and street sweeping schedule you MAY have to move your car in the morning.
LaGuardia is the closest airport, about 20 minutes taxi ride away ($35-$50) and also accessible via the M60 bus (transfer to the M101 or M100 on 125th Street). ($2.50)
For Newark use the AirTrain to access NJTransit and transfer at Penn Station to the NYC Transit. (around $15) Taxis cost $65-$85 to/from Newark.
For JFK use the AirTrain to access NYC Transit or the Long Island Railroad. ($7.50-$10) Taxis cost $50-$75.
We expect you to be quiet and respectful, and we ask that you do not bring unregistered guests back to the apartment for reasons of security.
Smoking is not allowed.
We also ask that you do not wear shoes in the apartment. That way you can better enjoy the feel of the oriental rugs underfoot. :-)
