Azzurra is an apartment in Poderra Torrichi, a gated community of three farm buildings, which is located between the medieval cities of San Gimignano and Volterra. Podera Torrichi has retained the charm of the traditional Tuscan farm buildings, with chestnut beams, interior exposed stone, chestnut doors, terracotta tiles and shuttered windows.

There is a large, shared, 14 x 7 meter infinity pool with covered gazebo, sunbathing areas and sunbeds.

Le logement
The apartment has two private terraces to enjoy and relax. The north facing terrace with covered gazebo provides shelter from the hot sun and is equipped with dining furniture. The terrace located on the southwest corner of the apartment provides a 270 degree view of the Tuscan countryside and the infinity pool, and is great for sunbathing, having a meal, and enjoying the amazing Italian sunset. The apartment has its own private garden.

Où se situe le logement

Gambassi Terme, Toscane, Italie

San Gimignano (14km), possibly Italy’s most famous small town, is only a 20 minute drive. This city evokes the atmosphere of Medieval Toscana, with its cobblestone roads, high defensive walls, imposing towers and narrow streets. This small and charming medieval town, founded in the eighth century, is known for its lofty medieval towers, 14 of the 72 original still remain. Inside the city walls, there are many restaurants, speciality shops, art galleries, museums and churches. Volterra (15km), the jewel of Roman, Etruscan, medieval, and Renaissance art, is only a 20 minute drive.Siena (50km), is famous for its large cathedral, the Duomo, which was completed in 1380, and is a great example of Italian Romanesque architecture. Siena is also famous for the Piazza del Campo, which is another architectural treasure, and is famous for hosting the Palio horse races that occur in July and August. Siena is a walled city, full of atmosphere and fabulous bars and restaurants. Florence (approximately 60km), is a little over an hours drive away and is more easily accessible by train. Florence was the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Politically, economically, and culturally it was the most important city in Europe for around 250 years; from some time before 1300 until the early 1500s. Visit one of the worlds most famous fine art museum, Galleria degli Uffizi, with collections of Renaissance paintings and sculptures from classical antiquity. Also spend the day touring the Duomo di Firenze, the city's beautiful cathedral, the symbol of the city. Brunelleschi huge dome was an engineering feat of the renaissance. Walk across the Ponte Vecchio the oldest and most famous bridge over the Arno. The Ponte Vecchio is lined with shops, traditionally mostly jewellers since the days of the Medici. Vasari's elevated walkway crosses the Arno over the Ponte Vecchio, connecting the Uffizi to the old Medici palace. Chianti area (40km), the beautiful small villages of Castellina, Radda, Greve and Gaiole are only minutes away. Hills, crossed by a rich network of short rivers, those of the Pesa, the Elsa, the Greve, the Ombrone and the Arbia, are everywhere famous for the incomparable naturalistic beauty and as an example of harmonious union between environment and human activity, which is reflected by the orderly cultivation of vines and olive trees and by the golden expanse of grain. The rural reality of the Chianti region is not however monotonous, it also presents, in fact, woodland areas composed essentially of oak and chestnut trees of coppices that cover the slopes of the surfaces. The fascination of this territory lies in the perfect equilibrium between the soft forms of slopes and the thousand nuances of colour and crowded woods, populated by ancient castles, secular parishes, pleasant villas and large Farms.

My husband and I have been married for 35 years and we have a son and a daughter. We live in the Bay Area. We go to Italy every year. We love the food, the scenery and the people. We've made many wonderful friends thru the years. Everybody needs to go to Italy at least once in their life. We have furnished the apartments at the highest standard. I love to cook so you will not find anything missing in the kitchen. The kitchen is stock with spices, dish soap, cleaning supplies. We try to anticipate what you might need during your stay. All we ask is that you treat our apartment with respect and care the same way you treat your own house.
