It's up to you. I do like to be home for your arrival so do contact me at least an hour before you think you will be at the house or earlier if that works for you.
I am in and out to attend meetings and take care of personal needs/my business etc. I like to get to know folks who visit and sometimes have breakfast with them or a nice evening snack but I am fine with guests who just want a place to get a good nights sleep too and head off to their busy agendas. I can help you with places to eat, places to see, events, happenings, and I have a hiking group too that has events about 1 or 2 times a week so you are always welcome to join in these as well.
Guests are the best part of my day. Everyone is unique and special. It is a joy to meet new people and learn about their lives and their adventures and of course their interests in the Berkshires.
The birds that are around my house truly sing happy songs as they lighten the mornings with their good cheer and splendor. Like Tanglewood, they breath life into the day and their energy so early in the morning settles us for the day ahead and captures our imagination as music, art, history, language, food, and nature do throughout the Berkshires.
"Yes there are two birds outside my doorstep singing this is my message to you". Don't worry, be happy" Bob Marley
Please do not leave beverages in glass or cans sitting on furniture, there are coasters.
Please arrive when you share you will be arriving, not 3 hours later as I am waiting for your arrival and it means I am not doing other things I need to do instead.
Please adhere to my house rules - no shoes in the house, no food in the bedrooms or beverages other than water, and use coasters if you have a glass of water you need to bring with you to the bedroom to protect my furniture, some of which I can not replace.
Please respect others that may be staying the same nights as you showing them the courtesy they need
Please share your schedule and if you have anyone that needs to take care of you in any emergency, please make sure I am aware of who to call should the need arise
Please make arrangements for transportation before you arrive rather than assume I have no other plans than to drive you around as I do have other things to do and clearly the pricing does not include this aspect of your stay
Arrivals are after 3:30pm not before, as guest stay until 11:30am and I need to clean up and change sheets and linens within that window of time. Departures are again 11:30am again so I have enough time for the guests arriving at 1:30pm. Some flexibility on this point as guests arrive after 3:30pm on many occasions.
Parking in designated spots discussed
No keys will be provided. Access will be discussed so that you are free to come and go as you please.
Si vous annulez jusqu'à 7 jours avant le voyage, vous recevez un remboursement à hauteur de 50 %. En cas d'annulation au cours des 7 jours précédant le voyage, la réservation est non remboursable.

I have lived in the Berkshires for over 10 years hiking the trails, teaching skiing at the area ski resorts, and sailing on the lakes. With Shakespeare, Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow and fine restaurants to choose from, this is a place where no one can be bored. A lovely place to visit, live, and return again and again. I came here from Southern Connecticut, though I have lived abroad and in the West Coast as well, and I have to say this is one of the most beautiful places I have lived.
Since living here I have taught skiing at Jiminy, started a hiking group with 530+ members, participated in fundraising activities for the Library, and other groups, and raced small sailboats on Pontoosuc Lake in the summers. The culture with Shakespeare, Tanglewood, and Jacobs Pillow mixed with amazing museums and a landscape that is diverse and beautiful year-round are the many attractions to the Berkshires.
When I travel I am looking for a place that is beautiful but also homey. It is important to be in a place that welcomes guests / visitors and treats us well. References I have been given suggest you will find that at my place in the Berkshires as I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences here while learning about yours.
My mantra in life is Listen, Learn and Lead and I am always excited to learn about my guests and their travels and experiences and joys in life.
Do come up and enjoy this treasure we have here year-round!
