As one of many serviced apartment operators using AirBnB to provide superior service to guests as opposed to individual landlords (guaranteed high-speed Internet, weekly cleaning, 24-hour emergency phone number, etc.) we are pleased to work with AirBnB to continue our hosting. As AirBnB themselves have partnered with one of our industry's leading brands, BridgeStreet Worldwide, they clearly see the benefit of working with companies such as ourselves. Furthermore, asking for a credit card upon arrival in any accommodation is standard practice the world-over, regardless of what the specific establishment's reasoning may be (either incidentals, or insurance against possible damage or parties as we have already unfortunately experienced). Even youth hostels I personally stayed in while travelling through Asia required my credit card when I arrived. This is certainly standard practice for most established and respected providers. I am though sorry that you didn't like the location, as according to previous guest's comments here this was one of the biggest selling points for them. If there was anything that we could do to make your stay more enjoyable we would have done so without question - as we do many times throughout the week for every guest's request...another perk of booking an established company - quick and prompt response times! We do appreciate your feedback though, and will take this under consideration - especially in regards to the windows; though the outside of the windows are building management responsibility (we can only really take responsibility for the interior of our apartments) we have notified the appropriate agency and they will be cleaning the exterior windows of the entire block shortly.

Excellent host experience, very good location, precise description. Only knock would be rickety old windows - and not quite enough heating in the bathroom to make it anything but frigid in December. Still, despite this, would still go here given a choice next time I visit London.
