Description

This is the largest bedroom in a 3 bedroom apartment complete with a large kitchen, sunny family room with piano and a clean bathroom right next to this room. Roommates are quiet, kind and very helpful in navigating NYC should you need assistance.

This apt was recently renovated and there is lots of light in the living room.

Full kitchen, shared bathroom, and sunny living room. Walking distance to the 1 and the A subway lines, which provide easy access to Upper West Side, Midtown, and Downtown in the city.

When our room is available, we are out of town. However, one or both of our roommates are usually home. They are both very friendly and are happy to answer any questions you might have about the apartment, the neighborhood, and the city.

Washington Heights is filled with friendly neighbors, beautiful nearby parks, and easy subway access to two of the most used subway lines in Manhattan (the 1 and the A). Almost everyone in the neighborhood speaks Spanish, as most people in Washington Heights are from the Dominican Republic. There is also a significant Orthodox Jewish population, especially around Yeshiva University at the end of our block. We belong to neither of these demographics ourselves, but have always felt welcome and a part of the community. The area feels safe day and night and is very much a family-centered neighborhood. In the warmer months, there are often people hanging out playing dominoes and music, and even barbecuing on front stoops. The biggest thing to know about Washington Heights (and NYC in general) is that everyone is incredibly nice and you should not hesitate to ask strangers for help.

Our apartment is about a 20 minute walk from Fort Tryon Park. This park is home to The Cloisters, part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and numerous beautiful views of the Hudson River. There is also a trail

The subway is by far the easiest way to get around from our apartment. It runs 24/7 and is fairly inexpensive. You have easy access to both the 1 and the A lines, which run north/south through Manhattan down the west side. Take the 1 if you're headed to the Upper West Side (about 20-30 min) and either if you're going to Columbus Circle (about 40 min). Both will also get you to Midtown (the area centered around Times Square) in about 45 minutes. Subway passes are available to purchase inside the stations with cash or card.
