Stay in one of New York's safest, most convenient, and most beautiful locations.

When Airbnb's top photographer, who had photographed hundreds of apartments, came to photograph our home, he couldn't stop talking about how lucky we are to live here (we agree!). [You can look up "The Martinique" on Eastern Parkway (third floor!) to see exactly where we are.] He said he'd never seen a place so ideally situated (he also noted how clean we keep it). We appreciate how special our spot is and enjoy sharing our home and the pleasures of living across the street from the Museum and the Botanic Garden.

Many past guests have remarked on how genuinely welcomed and at home they felt, and how staying with us has been their favorite Airbnb experience to date because of our pleasure in sharing our home - they said it helped make their stay. We have had only great experiences with Airbnb and look forward to meeting more good people.

The bedroom is furnished with rare antique rugs and original art and has a Queen size bed, bed side tables and lamps, overhead track lighting, a full-sized armoire that serves as a closet, a built-in bookcase, and a large, comfy sofa chair. Organic sheets and towels are provided for your use.

It is a three-bedroom apartment. We are a household primarily of queer and transgender folks; LGBTQ visitors and allies alike are welcome.

This has been my home for almost six years and has lots of art, books, antiques, and personal details. Visitors remark on how homey it feels.

Note: There is a large, ridiculously friendly cat in residence. You're welcome to keep him out of your room (he won't hold it against you). He will likely greet you at the door when you come home.

May you have safe and rewarding travels.

There is a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline from the building's roof. We have a well-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, All-Clad cookware and a DISHWASHER. The comfortably-sized living room has seating for six, is full of art, and has a dining table with five chairs. The bathroom is fully marble. Elevator building, live-in super, free wifi internet.

We're happy to answer any questions you may have about New York, and to recommend the best local spots.

When my roommate moved in, she commented that it feels like you're living across the street from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and that our street, with all its doormen, feels like Museum Mile on the Upper East Side of Manhattan (well, except it's much more fun). Not only are we across the street from the Museum and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, but Brooklyn's other great cultural institutions are within blocks: the main branch of the Brooklyn Public Library and national landmark Prospect Park. Additionally, BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) and Barclays Center are also within walking distance. There are many cute coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping boutiques in the neighborhood - there's no need to leave Brooklyn should you wish to explore here.

We are directly across the street from the 2/3 express subway Eastern Parkway/Brooklyn Museum stop.

We can host one or two guests. Two guests is our limit, as it is a one-bathroom apartment. There is a three night minimum.

New York City taxes of $3.50 per room per night plus 14.375% of room rental charges are included in the nightly rate.

There is a $50 cleaning fee. Occupancy for two people is $25 for the extra person per night. There is one Queen size bed available, as well as a blow-up full size air mattress.

Règlement intérieur
L'heure d'arrivée est flexible

There is no cigarette smoking inside the apartment or building.

We must all be considerate of others in terms of time spent in the bathroom in the morning.

Monk, the 14-lb cat, will run out of the apartment if the front door is held open, so I ask that folks be mindful of the door when they enter or exit.

Sorry, no visiting pets.

Luke's place is frankly great. Luke is a great host and very communicative and accommodating. The space is right next to a station for the 2 and 3 lines, making it an easy hop from Penn Station. The view of the Brooklyn Museum is wonderful, and the building is easy to find. Would happily stay here again.

I expected a good place, knowing it was across from the Brooklyn Museum, but I was a bit worried about noise from Eastern Parkway based on a previous place we'd rented in the area. But since this place is not at an intersection or noisy spot in the road, the traffic noise was not a problem at all. I totally appreciated what a good host Luke was, both in the check in process, and my need to extend my rental by an additional day. He was very diligent about making sure I knew my way around the area and made it clear he was there for any questions. This was my first time in an Airbnb where I didn't have the entire unit to myself and wasn't sure what to expect - but it was just fine. I'll definitely go back again.

This was a great location to visit New York. The Brooklyn museum was just right in front of your room and subway access is excellent for someone who love a cat. I had a great time.

Luke's place was clean and cozy, and in a great location. Luke himself was friendly and dedicated to making the apartment comfortable for me during the stay. When he was around, we shared mugs of tea and interesting conversation. He slept on the couch while I slept in his room, which was fine for me as I came in late and left early so never needed to use the living room. I think the neighbor downstairs might smoke, as the room was quite smoky a few of the nights, but Luke did everything possible to eradicate the smell and make my stay comfortable. Monk, as mentioned, is a cat who will capture the hearts of even non-cat people and was definitely a bonus to staying here.

New York is my home and my love. I enjoy helping other folks to feel at home here.

My name is Luke. I am transgender. I especially enjoy hosting guests who are members of or who have strong connections with POC LGBTQIA communities, providing as safe a space as possible.

I'm a native New Yorker (my mother's family has lived in Brooklyn for the past 100 or so years) and a graduate of Columbia University. I have lived and worked in Manhattan and/or Brooklyn for 20 years. I especially love being able to recommend local spots not in most tourist guides, and having my guests feel that my home is their home while they are here.
