I'll describe the property and the hospitality (which was superb) as I imagine most will do their own research on the general area. The property is maybe 50 feet from the surf so the breeze and the sound of the waves makes for great sleeping. There are two apts. one on each of the two floors (I didn't go into the upstairs apt. but was able to see through the windows and it looks very nice). The first floor has three good sized bedrooms with queen (I think) beds and plenty of closet space. Bedding very clean and pillows new. Good sized fully equipped kitchen. Not much indoor communal space but you don't need it as there is plenty of covered patio area outside with picnic table, lounge chairs, grill etc...also plenty of uncovered grassy area (see picture they provide...the photo actually doesn't do it justice because the area is larger than it appears in the picture and the grass is much greener than it is in that shot). The surf comes right up to the property so there isn't a sandy beach right there but maybe 200 yards at most in either direction you will find that. The only potential drawback of the property is the bathroom which although it is clean and functional, it is older, sort of narrow and a little dark. For me (I was alone) it was fine but if you are particular about your bathrooms or if you have a large group this may be a small drawback at most.
The hospitality was simply outstanding: Yyvette has mastered the very difficult balance of being a host who is gracious, helpful and accommodating but without hovering. She's a native New Yorker but Puerto Rican by family and has lived on the Island for years and so has lots of knowledge and great suggestions and advice. She's also a trooper: like an idiot I stepped on a Sea Urchin while walking on the big deal but you have to get the spines out or you're asking for trouble. I was alone and couldn't do that by myself because of the weird angle so instead of just watching me struggle or giving me directions to a clinic or whatever, Yvette sat down at the picnic table with me and spent the better part of the morning poking at the bottom of my foot with tweezers until I was as good as new. Yvette you are a treasure!
As for the immediate surroundings: there are restaurants and a brewery within walking distance (I tried the Italian rest. and it was really quite good) and by car within two minutes you can get to a really pretty and large public beach that has several cool restaurants/ bars with lots of outdoor seating right across the street.
